AOS interview before EAD and Biometrics

He was ask for biometrics...means FP's and picture, even I think most likely is that they need only the picture  since is the picture used for the EAD and green card as well and he never got his EAD by his timeline.

Thanks, Cherr.
I guess they must have taken the Pics the first time around along with FPs, when he went for his biometrics on 2/1/06.
But in his previous post he mentioned he again gave Finger Prints for the second time on 4/12/06. That's what seems uncommon unless the FPs were rejected the first time - but if they were, then the officer wouldn't have put approval stamp on the PP

GC received

Hi all,

Thank you very much for your help.

I received my card yesterday, it is cited from the day I filled my application: Oct 23, 2006.

Here is my story:

July, 2005: Arrived in USA as a tourist in July 2005, B1/B2 multiple trip one-year Visa. I-94: 6 months.

Sep 2005: Married to an USC.

Oct 23, 2005: Filled I-485, I-130, I-765.

Oct 27: application sent (including I-485, I-130, I-765, marriage Cert, Medical check, immunization card, birth certs of both, my spouse's income tax). Used one-day certified delivery.

Oct 28, 2005: package reached USCIS Missouri.

Nov 04, 2005: receipts received.

Nov 05, 2005 to Jan 26, 2006: did not get any notice from USCIS, no EAD card, no fingerprint and biometrics appointment.

Jan 27, 2006: Letter for I-485 interview. I did panic because I-485 interview before fingerprint, biometrics, EAD. So tried to call my lawyer and searched information on internet. My lawyer did not help anything and advized me to feel relaxed and wait. How could I feel no worry? My case seemed not to go smoothly. I called National Customer Service but heard that I should wait and the interviewer would tell me what to do at the interview. So, I waited until my interview day, Mar 15, 2005.

Jan 28, 2006: Create an account for case. At that time I did not know about Inforpass.

Mar 15, 2006: went to Santa Ana for interview at 8:45 am. We arrived at 8:00, brought a lots of papers, including original copies and their duplicates: Complete copy of my application, my passport, Visa, I-94, Bank statements, house payment and house owner's statement (we live in my spouse's own house), my pouse's gas payment and electrical payment, 300 original marriage pictures and 4 copied of them in one-A4 paper (I selected 4 pictures that taken with my friends and families). I also broght 5 letters of my friend and families to assure that our marriage is bonefide and based on love.

I was very nervous because I did not have co- insurance, car co-owners, co-credit card account. The problem is that I did not have a Social Security Number so I could not apply for credit card, add my name into my spouse's insurance, car owner and house owner.

The interviewer asked me lots of questions:
- My full name, my father and mother name, my birthday, country of birth.
- Where I interviewed for Visa, how many time I visited USA.
- What I did in my country, my education, my criminal record.
- Where and when we met each other, how we met, who introduced me to my spouse, whether we knew each other before I entered the US, whether we contacted after I left the US.
- The interviewer wanted to see our marriage pictures, I gave her a big 300-pic album and she looked all of them.
- Then she asked my spouse the same questions as above.
- She asked why we did not have co-insurance, car-co-owner, house-owner. I explained I waited for EAD and had no SSN so It's impossible to have them shown.
- She asked whether I had an idea to live in the US before I entered the US, I answered No (always say No). She asked this question about 5 times (Be careful, the interviewer asked lots of questions, then returned to asked the same question to know you tell the truth).
- Then she said that she approved my case, but she said sorry because she could not issue a paper for me to live legally in the US because FBI has not check my name and my record. I asked her how long I have to wait, she said she was not sure, maybe 90 days of 6 months.
- I asked about my EAD and said that I need it to work. She went out to call someone and came back, said that she assigned an officer to follow my case.
- She asked to keep all copies of my stuff. I gave her all papers that I have copied, including our 4 of our marriage pictures. Then she showed us the way to get out.

In the same day I called my lawyer and she did not advise anything, just said that I should wait (again, my lawyer is bad and has no experience in immigration).

Mar 15, 2006, in the afternoon I received approval email for I-130.

Mar 19, 2006, Approval email for EAD.

Mar 27, 2006 EAD card receive. Again, I was paniced because the picture and signature on my card are not mine. I called Customer Service and was told to returned it back. I read threads in this forum, posted questions and was advised to get Inforpass appointment.

April 05, 2006: Inforpass appointment. I asked about my case, the officer answered that it was pending because of name check. I asked about wrong information on my EAD card, he laughed and said I did not like the card because the picture of the guy on my card is uglier than me. Then He gave me another form to fill in. I said I had no any appointment for my fingerprints and biometrics, he gave me a 7-day open appointment paper for fingerprints and biometrics immediately. Thereafter, I left the civic center I went for fingerprints and biometrics.

Apr 05, 2006 in the afternoon: received an email to inform I-485 was interviewed and processed.

Apr 19: Approval email for I-485.

Apr 23, 2006: Approval letter received.

Apr 25, 2006 Approval notice email for I-485.

Apr 28, 2006: GC received.

I feel relaxed and happy now, yesterday I was so excited that I could not sleep.

Congrats once again, Molly!
I'm hoping that for the rest of us who are probably going to get the IL ahead of FP, things work out as quickly as it did for you :)
