AOS Interview Approved - Expired Fingure Prints

Hi There,

I had AOS interview last month. After interview officer said, Petition has been granted however your fingure prints are expired (I had fingure prints about 4 years back) and he gave me a FP appointmen letter. I did my FP third week of last month (March). Officer didnt' stamp on my Passport. Online process is still showing the same thing, as it was showing before interview.

How long it will take to get Passport Stamp (atleast :rolleyes: ).

Has anyone experienced anything like this in Maryland?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

When officer told you about approving PETITION then officer was referring to I-130 (or other petition depending the basis of your case) because all these are petition. I-485 is not a petition; rather it is an application.

A case CANNOT be approved unless all the background checks are cleared FIRST. That’s why officer did not stamp the passport yet. Thus, your case is NOT approved yet. They took your fingerprints again because the previous were expired being taken so long ago. USCIS will approve your application when they would get positive clearance on you. They will mail you an approval letter in the mail. Once you would receive that approval letter, you could visit to local USCIS office to have a I-551 stamp on your passport. You will not be interviewed anymore as everything seems all right except USCIS is waiting for background checks on you.

Nobody knows when a background check would be cleared. In some cases, it got cleared within few weeks while in other cases-people are still waiting for 3-4 yrs. So, just have some patience because there is absolutely nothing you could do to expedite your fingerprints to be cleared soon except filing a lawsuit against USCIS.

Thank you so much for your reply. I really help me alot. Now I am feeling alot relax. My attorny (I should say Filing Clerk) didn't answer any of my questions and just laughed at me and said, wait and just wait. But your detailed reply really clear the clouds on my mind.
