Hello
my AOS i485 was approved on the 16th of march and uscis mailed me the welcome letter and the green card quickly. The problem is i got an email saying that the welcome letter was sent back because postal service could not deleiver it, when i called uscis they told me they have the right address on file and they would send it back. today i got a second email telling me that the letter containing the green card was sent back too. iam confused, mad, and pissed. what do i have to do.

Also my i485 was approved only 2 mounths before my marriage is 2 years old and the interviwer never mentioned anything about removal of condition nor did he make us sign a letter that we understand that we have to file for removal of conditions in 2 years, i heard of people getting 10yr GC automaticly.

Thank you.

1. That problem is from the postal office, someone over here got the same problem but viceversa. Check with the postal office. Call again USCIS and tell them that your address is fine and please send back your green card back, as same as you did with your welcome letter.

2. Not all officers are the same, some explained everything others if you don't ask, they won't tell all the issues. Unfortunately, even you are close to be in the 2 years range, you are still are in the conditional status but check your card when arrived, sometimes they make it for the 10 years when people are so close, that really depends in what terms the officer put it, let us know. Nobody has to sign a letter about the procedure of removal of conditions and if you understand it or not. That is explained on the procedures when you file for adjustment of status. Where you hear that?

Good luck,

can you call USCIS and ask them whether you can pick them up at your DO? Since they are important docs. you don't want them getting looping around for nothing.

Welcome letters are mailed form the NBC and not the DO.

To the OP, If you already have your welcome letter and GC, whats the problem? I would ignore those emails if i were you.

Also, it is your responsibility to be aware of the immigration laws and requirements. You cannot hold the officer responsible if you did not know you had to file I-751 after 2 years. You have to do your own research.
