Is there any new news for people with C1/D visas?
Yes I know many of american citizens always tell me the same thing, should've thought about it before you decided to stay, etc, etc. "If I could turn back time..."
But it is what it is. I've been in states for 16 years now, majority of my adult life I'm married to a citizen, got 2 citizen children, house, etc just can't get the card. I can't even leave states, because I'd probably get barred for re-entry for 10 years. At this point basicaly I wouldn't be punished (I already punished myself as it is anyway.) I'd punish my wife and children. What really matters is even if I left for 10 years that means my children will be raised somewhere else they will not have the same shot as other kids (problems with english vocabulary, accents, new childhood friends & way of life. Probably would always been viewed by citizens as not truly americans)
What really seems not fair is that people that came around the same time as me but with B2 visas, get the "Welcome to America" even though they basicaly did the same thing, not to mention, I'm married for real, while I know at least 4 couples personally that married for papers and now are either green card holders or citizens.
It just doesn't seem right.
Sorry for the rant, but I'm just venting my frustration, not being able to move forward with my life. So anyway any news with C1/D or any reform in general?

Will never happen. They specifically ban C/D visa holders from adjusting status because they don't want air/sea crew members abandoning their airline or ship and causing frequent disruptions to international travel and freight.

If they allowed C/D visa holders to adjust status, they visa screening would have been tougher and you probably wouldn't have gotten the visa in the first place.

But it did happen. Last time a decade ago, unfortunately I was unaware of it and I've missed the boat. Question is why it did happen at all, and why wouldn't happen again? Is there no approach of "case by case basis" of anykind?
Also my understanding is if I was caught as an illegal alien, then I would at least have a shot at a pardon from a judge? Do I understand that correctly?

Well there is only one thing for sure and thats you can not undo whats transpired so far .Being in a very difficult situation you really need to consider other options. Yes I understand your situation 100 % as I too have waited a long time to get to where i am at now. In fact I know I have waited far longer than you.

With that said you need to make some really hard choices now to be able to move on. good luck
