Hi,
My I-485 receipt date is also Oct. 2002.
In August, INS transfered my I485 to an office in CHICAGO, IL for
processing.
In September, I received my second finger print notice and submitted my FP.
Any idea how long it's going to take from this period onwards to get my GC.
I also heard that there is a distinct possibility that I will be called for personal interview. Does this happen in all cases. Pls. advise.

I too got apporval letter on 11/26/04.

I too got apporval letter on 11/26/04. My interview was done on nov 4th.

I have one question. On my interview day immigration officer collected my photographs and finger print, I am going for a passport stamp. Do I still need to take photos with me ???

chicagofasi - Same situation. I dont think we have to take the photographs. In my approval letter, they already have mentioned that we should get the cards in few months, but if we want, we can get our passports stamped. I am sure its the same with you.

Thanks,

chicagofasi - I plan on taking the following to the Chicago office-

1) Approval letter
2) Past EAD's
3) Past AP's
4) Passport
5) Past I-94
6) Infopass appointment letter

We can always get the pictures taken downstairs if need be ( Its bit expensive, but i doubt we would need it coz we have already submitted it)

Thanks,

Received Welcome letters

Received the welcome letter from USCIS for myself and spouse on Saturday.

It also says that they have ordered the card and should receive the card in 3 weeks. Don't know how far thats true.

But atleast that shows that I don't need to carry my photographs for the stamping.

Will keep all posted.

Thanks,
