Anyone travelled on AP to India via Seoul??

I am travelling to India and I have a day stay over at Seoul. I need to know if I need to stay inside the Airport Hotel or can I go out of the Airport to stay with my AP? My H1 has already expired and the only thing I have is a valid AP.
People, please share your experience !!
 
what does a US AP have to do with Seoul?

In the best scenario, you might be stuck at the terminal for 10 years unable to enter or leave....:)
oh wait.. that was a movie.
