Anyone knows How Long AP application takes?

Do you believe in Santa Claus too?

" It is also expected that in October the adjudication of Employment Authorization Applications (I-765) and Advance Parole Applications (I-131) filed concurrently with I-140/I-485s will be faster, so that eventually these applications will be adjudicated within 45 days.. "

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Here is the list of the processing dates in the JIT report:

Code:
JIT processing
9/01/03 - 5/05/03
8/15/03 - 4/25/03
8/01/03 - 4/25/03
7/15/03 - 4/23/03
7/01/03 - 4/02/03
6/16/03 - 4/02/03
5/15/03 - 3/21/03
5/01/03 - 3/03/03
It has been almost stopped since mid July.

By the beginning of October, the backlog will reach 5 months.
I wonder the CSC can catch up in a couple of months.

Actually, I filed I-131 late July for Christmas holiday season, but I may not be able to get an AP by that time.

Applied for AP last month, was hoping to get it before Jan! But I guess that is not going to happen now.

Though a word to cheer. Usually this always happens to AP's, they let the backlogs grow to 5-6 months, and then zip through the whole file. The checks are not so vigorous specially if you have had an AP before, so hopefully they approve it ASAP!

Good luck to all of us!

140_takes_4ever,

And, doubtless, the I-485 applications will be hangin' fire while they zip through the whole pile!

At least if they speed up the 485s and even slow down the 140s like they are 'threatening' to, people can keep filing their 1 year-at-a-time extensions of H1, and cut the EAD+AP load in half, making even more time for I-485 adjudications.

If wishes were horses, then beggers would ride! :(

If only INS saw and used logic, we wouldn't have to deal with this mess. 485 processing times saw a significant hit while INS was busy getting AP and EAD backlogs down. It is going to happen again. Not sure if poor 140 applicants should suffer on account of us, but I definitely don't care too much if the AP/EAD backlogs grow a bit in order for the 485 processing to take off. I don't understand why INS doesn't see that processing more 485's means less backlog for EAD! Morons! UGHhhh!
