May I recommend

you to contact your local Senator or Congressman's office. TSC is supposedly processing I-485 cases as of 07/01/2000 (as reported at www.shusterman.com - new processing time is out for all service centers). Since your ND is 2/2000, you do have a logic to contact your local Congressman or Senator's office about your case. At your request, they may initiate a congressional inquiry about your case. Best of luck.

Contacted long ago

Contacted Local Senator several times. First in Dec '01 and got a Fingerprint request (Second one). Then again in Mar '02 and got the information that it is pending consideration and it will be considered in 45 days. Then hearing nothing contacted again in late April '02 and was told that INS has informed them that more background checks are being done after Sep. 11 and no deadline can be given. I know the last one is a lie by TSC, senator's office was not lying though as I verified it. It was an attempt by TSC to prevent further questions from Senator's office by implicitly appealing to their patriotic sentiments.

Don't know what to do? Called TSC a few weeks ago and was told that it is pending consideration again.

Is anybody out there with same dates ND-2/00, RD-2/00?

Thanks

In the I-485 tracker (for TSC, www.e-nairobi.com),

I found out: for all category, with ND 02/01/2000 thru 02/28/2000, there are 35 approvals, there are 17 cases still pending. Some of the approvals happened after the applicants contacted senators/congressmen's office. But the story is different after 9/11. When you called TSC last time, they informed you that your case was under pending consideration, did they mean that your case was at an officer's desk - what exactly did the IIO tell you? Sometimes, you get right info from them, other times you don't. If an attorney filed your case for you, does he/she have any thoughts regarding this lengthy process in your case, he/she can fax to TSC requesting a status inquiry on your case. Anyway, let us hope for the best, let us hope and pray that your case will be approved soon.

Thanks

Thanks for the information. Could you let me know where you got the information about 17 cases still pending? My lawyer is like most lawyers is a useless guy!

We're in the same boat (PD 7/98, RD 2/00, ND 2/00). We actually got through to an IIO today and she doesn't know anything about our status. All she could tell us was that she'd inform the supervisor. Have sent numeous faxes and never got any reply. Contacted the congressman last year, when TSC was processing 7/99 cases--naturally it didn't go anywhere.

Guess for some people nothing works...

I am really depressed seeing the speed at which Texas service center is going. No approval waiting.
PD June 1998
RD Jan 2001
FP March 2002
RFE June 6 2002
How long after RFE reply does the approval will be mad.
Already had two EADs. Looking forward for approval before 3rd EAD

how come they are not correct?

when you say that they lied to the statement that more background checks is being done, how did u know that?

it seems to me that probably it is the most obvious reason for the delay is because of background check or simply the file is lost, I cant see any other reason for the delay.
it is obvious that somepeople from some places will be checked much longer than others from other places. We just hope that this is the extent of it.

It seems that your case was assigned in slightly before march 02, according to couple of new approvals I have seen, some of them lasted about 5 months after FP in Feb, and got approval in July.
it shows it could have been pending for those 5 months. so you should be OK soon hopefully.

It all depends on what pending means, does it mean IIO is actively working on it, including background checks or it is just there with him waiting its turn.
