hey guys,
I am filling form i-864 and I have some questions.
my sponsor is just my friend, not a relative. he is the only sponsor and meets poverty requirements (125%). and I am the only one whom he sponsors because he doesnt have dependants, wife etc.
so, which box I have to check in part 1 of i-864? also, do I have to add my wife (US citizen) to my sponsors houshold?
anyway, I've read somewhere that it doesnt matter if my spouse is a sponsor or not, she still have to fill form i-864 also. is that true? does my spouse have to fill i-864 even if she is not my finacial sponsor?
do I have to fill form i-864A?

GUYS PLEASE HELP I WANT TO SAVE SOME MONEY....

How do you propose to save money? There is no cost to fill out the form.
Confused by your post.

yes, your USC spouse need to file form i-864l, and since she does not meet the minimum income requirements, she needs a co-sponsor. you might wanna do the search or read the forms on how to go about a co-sponsor, as I am not exactly sure how it works, but I think both your wife and a co-sponsor would need to file i-864 and also ask your sponsor to write a letter explaining his relation to you and your wife and confirming his willingness to help the two of you...

Just read and answer accordingly... It's not that hard. You have to READ INSTRUCTIONS over and over untill you realize what applies to your case.

Amen.

And a word of advice, read it all over 1 more time.
Remember to sign it in front of a Notary and get it stamped.

I guess I'll have to sacrifice some money for attorney...
I am not an expert of those forms and all that instructions are more confusing than application itself... :(

Under the new rules, Notary stamp is NOT required on I-864. Also sponsor has to present only one (most recent) tax return. The form is VERY easy!

ok. so my friend sponsor fills one form of I-864, checks d (which says "I am the only joint sponsor") in part one, I attach all evidences, and this is it?

I do not have the form in front of me right now, but it sounds about right. Your spouse still need to file I-864 and indicate that it is joint sponsorship..

Save the money. Send me $75 with all your documents and I'll fill it out for you. :p Seriously, there is no need to waste money on a lawyer. Unless you have some weird circumstances, it's money down the tubes.

well... I do some weird circumstances... I have a withdrawn asylum case. I hope it's not going to affect my interview or my process too much...

one more question :D
it says that I need transcripts of federal tax returns... where can I get those?
is it just copies of filled 1040's forms?

No. You call the IRS and tell then you want transcripts sent. Takes 7-10 days to receive.
