I was wondering if anyone lately has got(or planned to get) the US passport in the same day by going in person to one of the regional passport office. I guess they give the passport same day with expedite service and proof of the imminent travel abroad which requires visa.
Has anyone done it or you know someone has done it lately than pl share the experience.
I am planning to do it from the LA passport office next month.
Thanks!!

Hi,

I went the Philadelphia office and got my son's passport on the same day. I suppose if you have all the required documents and pay the expedite fees. They should give it to you on the same day.

hi, i just wonder if you had to show them your son must have a passport within the same day because of very near future travel day?

or they just did it for you with all your documents + fee (no special reasons of "why do you need the passport in the same day?")

Expedited Passport Service

I got mine recently in a total of 5 working days. State Dept. takes 72 hours to make a passport through an expedited service, then you add 2 more days for overnight mail for sending the application and receiving the passport. So it would be at least a total of 5 days and no more than 7 days, depending on the day of the week you make the application at the Post office or Courthouse.
