My PD ia May 2002 at VSC and I had an interviewd on May 29, 2003 at Arlington, VA and requested a name change. Waiting for oath letter.

What is your timelime and did your case with name change or not?

Thanks

My PD was April, 2002.. and didn't have name change. I had interview in last week of April, 2003. The officer told me that I must get oath before end of June 2003. Did officer tell you anything about Oath letter?

No, officer didn't give me any probable date for oath while interviewed me.

Did you know any other recent case which may give you idea about waiting time for oath?

Update on my application

PD: June 3, 2002
FP: Aug 23, 2002 at the Arlington, VA ASC
Interview: June 24, 2003 Arlington INS

Was given a paper with the officer's name
saying
1. passed the tests
2. congratulations, you are being recommended for naturalization
approval.

Was told that should expect a letter for oath ceremony in
2-3 months with a 3-week or so leadtime for the ceremony.

Is that the normal experience at the Arlington, INS?

congrats for passing interview. Do you apply for name change? if, so then I heard that it will take a four months at Arlington, VA

I did not ask for a name change. Did you get the same
form (i.e. with 2 check boxes:
1. Passed civics/language test.
2. congratulations your application is recommeded for approval.
if you get your final approval, you will be informed of your oath ceremony date by mail.

I was wondering if there are other forms of the letter where
the final approval (whatever that is) is given immediately.

One of my friend got answer (thru senator's help) that between interview and oath, there is 120 days gap at Arlington, VA local office.

Final Update on my application

PD: June 3, 2002
FP: Aug 23, 2002 at the Arlington, VA ASC
Interview: June 24, 2003 Arlington INS

Inquired in person on October 12 re status
and was told the application is in process.

Got letter for oath schedule end of October.
Oath: Nov 20, 2003.

Ceremony had 200 people. Saw some empty numbered
seats. Was required to surrender the GC and there
was a check of the questions. Saw one person who
had the letter but name was not on the list. The conclusion
was happy. The ceremony is in the GMU building at
3401 N. Fairfax drive. My choice was to go there by
metro (Virginia Square - GMU on orange line). This was a wise
choice since parking is quite limited and could explain some
of the missing seats. Immediately after I registered to vote.
