Anyone from Philadelphia region - For AOS

Lawyers can't help you until you get to the point when you can file for Writ of Mandamus (think 12-24 months after your interview). The only thing to do is wait I'm afraid.

Pankaj,
Did you hear anything yet? I'm still stuck in Name check rut and don't know when i'm going to get out of it Do you think a lawyer can help her to fasten the process o anything?

I have a lawyer who filed WOM for my wife after she waited for 2 years. She was waiting for Naturalization. I have spoken to him. He says there is no wait period per say.. but I need to have a compelling reason. If I have a strong reason, I can file WOM now. If you have EAD, and Parol then what could be so compelling... Now I feel If I am going back to school and I can show that there is a big fees difference b/w international student fees and in state fees. I have a reason here.

Now you need to think of a reason yourself.. Be in touch and we can may be help each other in filing WOM.

I thought in Naturalization cases you can sue for citizenship if they don't process your application within 180 days or something? Why would you have to file for WOM?

Sounds good....and i've my case at philly DO as well...the I 485 processing dates for philly DO have now crossed over the my application receipt date which is the date i filed my application (June - 2006)
I don't have a good reason here...The worse part is you're stuck to that address god knows for how long ....can't move etc etc......
I don't know why the heck this is taking so long .....but let's wait and c ..i guess patience is the the key /
Was wondering while this name check thing is going on can one travel out of US? I guess you can on advance parole but its always risk and u neva know what may happen at the Port of entry.....

120 law applies only when your interview is done.. if your interview is descheduled then you can not do anything other than WOM.. Phila pffice is smart.. they do not interview you at all and do not give you a chance for 120 days waiting..

I understand, you can not move and all that. Now you are right about parol, you can travel and all but again it is all uncertain.

I am going to wait some more time and then start prepration for WOM. Let see what happens
