Anyone claiming unemployment benefits ?

I got my GC in last sept and laid off in Dec ..So I was job less for almost a month & in financial crisis ..Any threat to my GC if I claim unemployment benefits ? ..Anyone here already claiming unemployment benefits please shed some light ..

Would you mind not posting this here. We can sympathize with your situation, but there is no reason for you to SPAM our forum. Instead you could pay a lawyer for a single question consultation.

I don't considered it as a SPAM 140_takes_4ever. The way I see it is anything related with green card since I485 can be discussed here. Nothing hurts to know more about green card while waiting for 485.

Yea you can file unemployment, I have friends who did it, and didn't get in trouble (so far).
 
You can get it .

I know some friends who got UI benefits after GC right after approval, they did not have a problem in getting.

But I don't know what affect it will have when you are applying for Citizen ship or renewing your GC.

Right now you will get it for sure.

I fail to understand how you don't see this thread as the SPAM that it is. If this thread is not SPAMming of our board then you are basically trying to say that having specific forums for specific discussions is a waste of time and effort. Why not just have one board and everyone from Labor to Green Card and beyond post in the same place. So what is this BS about

. This guys has already received his green card in September of 2002. As far as INS is concerned that is the end of the 485 stage! Which means post 485 posting should be done in the appropriate forum!

The correct place for this post would have been in the Life after The Green Card forum and not in the 485 Issues in California Service Center forum. How on earth do you expect anyone to answer his question when none of us have our green cards and have no experience or inherited knowledge as to the answer?

Offcourse, having already received your green cards you are expected to be slightly biased towards this discussion but I seriously fail to understand how you say it is not SPAM.

There is not gussa. I am just pointing out some facts to the case. No one can stop anyone from posting SPAM on the forum, but it is the ethics of the issue. If he had clearly marked on the thread that it was a SPAM, I probably would not even have read that post.
