Dates for AP, EAD

RD: July 28, 04
ND: August 3, 04 (EAD, AP, I-485, I-130)
FP: August 14, 04
FP updated: August 19, 04
Biometrics updated: August 17, 04
Still Waiting for EAD and AP
Submited: Hartford, CT to MSC/NBC

To travel with Ap, should we need EAD with us to show airport? Any gurus know about it, please response.

Good Luck everybody.

A# on AP is different than the A# on the Receipt

Received AP today, everthing looks good... except it assigns a different A# than the one on my applications.

The A# I put in all my applications is the one I got when I got my opt long time ago, I used the # for all my application(someone told me I should leave it blank) and it appears on all my application receipt.

Question:

1. Is th new A# a mistake or INS assigned a new number to me?

If it was a mistake, what should I do to correct it? call 800 number, write letter or any form?

2. If I travel with the AP, do I have trouble if the A# is different? do they check A#?

Thanks.

A# is suppose to stay the same no matter what.

call them up asap and let them know what happened

don't go on a trip with it. Yes they do check the number

Your Alien # will be the new and you can see in your I-485 receipt letter. You have to hook with your that new Alien #. You have to verify with your I-485 A# and your Ap A# looks similar. If you use any A# from your Optional Traing EAD , A#, that's wrong. You should put blank A# (N/A) whenever you will file AOS. I did that way and they assigned me a new Alien number. I think they already assigned you a new number. Please verify with others. I just told you on the basis of my case.

Thanks!

Well, they use the same A# I provided on all my application receipts(I-130/I-485/I-131/I-756), the approval of AP is different. I'll call them up. I don't worry about AP 'cause I don't plan to travel any time soon, I am worried if they mess up with my EAD etc.

Thanks.

New A# assigned

Talked to my lawyer, it turned out that I was assigned a new A#. it will be consolidated with all my files. No new receipt will be sent.

Not sure why they assign me a new A#, but they said it happened quite often. Hope it's a good sign, at least they are touching my files :)

Puzzled,

Did you filled up yourself or by lawyer? I did myself. Just wondering, to file by lawyer is a little faster/safe or not for this kind of married based straight forward case?

My AP and EAD were filed by lawyer. I did not pertain a lawyer when I filed I130/I485. I don't know how this would affect the process.

One thing, when you have a lawyer, at least you can get some information you can get by calling 800. I believe they have liaison at CIS and knows something we wound not know.

Amit,

Did you file yourself or by a lawyer? Did you give all the documents- copy, like passport, birth certificate etc more than one copy for the I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765 differently or just single copy in a whole package?

Thanks!

Hi Dip92,
I filed myself. No I sent according to the check list provided for each one of them, for example Birth certificate was asked for only I-485.

Thank You

Thanks Amit. I did also myself. And send all the papers per check list. But I didn't give them affidavit of support. Do you guys think, it's a problem?

My RD: July 28, 04
ND: August 3, 04
FP and Bio: August 14, 04

But I didn't get my AP and EAD yet.
