Dont worry you'll get it, it seems forever here but mine was scheduled in a year and approved for conditional and soon the battle begins to remove those damn conditions. I have posted my interview experience previously, so do a search on Miami if you want to read about it.

JJBBKK thanks so much i read your posts and threads and has helped me alot
i have a couple of questions

1) Did you have a second medical exam done from the one that you sent in with I-485 application and if yes did you bring to interview.

2) Did you fill out a second affidavit of support from the original that you may have sent with your first applications, Visa or 485, i already sent one in you say maybe fill in second one.

3) How closely did they look at your tax returns this year i didnt add my wife on taxes because we still are waiting for EAD and if i used ITIN i would have lost alot of money

4) when you recieved interview had you done two Biometrics interviews or one?
for 485 and 765? together or seperate

5) we live in broward, and when you recieved interview did the processing dates match at all or did you go through sooner, it will be one year come august for us.

6) I noticed like you that the processing dates jump back and forth, and five miles from here is Palm County and that office has a shorter wait,

thanks so much anything else you could tell would be helpful your info is like a breath of fresh air "florida Fresh air" thanks man

1) no 2nd medical exam
2)yes, i had to get 2nd affidavit of support
3)no very closely, he jsut kinda scanned thru the returns and put them in his folder
4) i had only 1 biometrics done
5) no dude, these dates are inconsistent, but it took mine 14 months to be exact, so be patient
My sister had her interview here too and it went good, they dont take more than 15 mins as there are million people will be waiting in the room with you, so just have all ur docs together and be ready to hand them in when they ask u to and dont ask any questions cause they move fast. And if you have all docs in place u dont even need a lawyer there, save urself some money, my idiot lawyer was late for that interview and when she walked in we were already done. But again, every interview is unique so its hard to predict. I got a conditional GC cause its been less than 2 years after we filed the paperwork and now the real pain comes cause i have to remove those stupid conditions pretty soon (by end of this year), plus this dui been buggin me, oh well. Good luck and let me know how it goes

thanks

Thanks so much its good to here from you, we have everything ready, it just seems really bad here in Miami when you check the processing times , im not using a lawyer and feel we should be ok, but since you mention a second affidavit of support that will probably need to be notorized, in my early days i got to DUIs in the same year however they were in diferent states and it was the early 80's and believe it or not at that time they had mainframe computers
that took up entire rooms and when they ran my record on the second DUI to see if I had any thing outstanding the were not able to connect from the other state any info or i would have lost license and posible jail time . good luck and keep in contact, sincerely Eric V

anything you would have done differently in your Filing ?
or is there anything you need to do immediatly after the GC approval that would save headaches?
and how do you start to remove conditions?
i thought you should have a three year card?
is your marriage is longer than one year from filing?

Thanks in advance jjbbkk

If your 2nd year anniversary is after the initial interview, then you get a conditional and you can apply to remove the conditions 90 days prior to expiration date on the GC, so little over year and a half. I have an attorney now to handle my removal of conditions and Im not anticipating for it to go smooth though Im ready for a battle, seems its always the case. I agree that Miami office is the worst and very and i mean VERY disorganized. There isnt much you can do differently in filing procedure, just have the docs ready and follow up with them once in a while, may be go to the office physically once every two months and bug them. Good luck!

Interview experience in Miami

First of all, I want to thank all of you guys. This forum has been really helpful in understanding and providing information on the interview procedures and papers to take and everything. Thanks ari4u, especially. You are a keystone in this forum!!

the interview went smooth and fast, it lasted only about 20 minutes. The interviewer was a very kind gentleman. He first asked for our DLs in the corridor before getting to the interview room and took copies of them right there (i had copies, though). He led as to the room, he swore us in as soon as we were in there. Immediately, he proceeded to verify our names and address. He asked me all the questions on form I-485 about being involved in communist party, terrorism, and so on. I answered them (no, no, no...)
After that, by checking my files, he asked me if this was my first marriage (yes), if I had any children (no) and if my phone number on records was ok. Then she asked my wife (USC) the same questions.
He asked us for the originals of our birth certificates and marriage license. We showed them to him and he checked these originals with the copies he had in our files on record (we had submitted copies last year). He gave the originals back to us. He looked again at the files... I could see all the paperwork we submitted last year was there.
Then he asked for the 2005 taxes (we had filed jointly). As my wife had signed my affidavit of support, the officer asked us for her employer letter and her tax returns of 2004 and 2003.
He asked us if we were living in our own house or were in a lease. We had a lease, and gave him a copy.
He asked if we had any joint account. We gave him our checking and savings statements (we had several from all the year round).
He asked us also if we had health insurance. We gave him the copies of our health insurance cards (which we've got through my wife's job).
He asked us if we had a car or car insurance in both of our names. We don't have such things. my wife explained why. The officer said it was ok.
And that was it. there was no other questions about our relationship. Nothing... We were waiting for him to ask things. But nothing. He didn't even ask for bills or photos (we had taken our wedding album, and a bunch of other pictures)
Then, he stamped the approval on the files and told us I would receive a letter of approval in a week or two, and my green card in 4-6 weeks.
He was very polite. He also told us he was very happy to see we had all the documents and copies he asked for. He told us most people go to the interview with less than half of what they are required to bring. We had prepared two folders: 1 for originals and the other for copies. The folders were indexed and the documents well organized.
So, a piece of advice: take all your papers/documents properly organized. The officers will thank you for that.
They want to go fast. They want to approve. I heard they get mad when they are busy, and people don't seem to help with the paperwork they are supposed to bring already properly prepared from home.
Again: do your homework and your interview will be a pleasant meeting, just as ours was.
Finally we said bye, he went with us to the corridor and showed us the way out to the elevator.
We are soo happy...
Thank you all guys. This forum is so supportive!!
Time to celebrate now!

did you bring a second affidavit of support and do you think it would have mattered if the 05 taxes were filed without you on it, we still dont have ss #

I-485 ND 4/4/05
EAD Aproval Date 5/19/05
Interview Date 3/23/06

I had to file jointly with my wife. I had my EAD and SS# already in 2005. Thus, our jointly filed 05 taxes were a must.
I guess your case is different. It is impossible for you to file taxes this year for 2005 if you do not have still a SSN.
If your spouse has you as a dependent, your name might be in the taxes, though. (I am not sure about this, however, i am just guessing...)
My wife was my sole affidavit of support. Her income was above the poverty line required.

eric v, I have been reading your previous posts and i guess you are still confused and unclear as to the immigration process. You need to do a lot of reading and research to get a good grasp of the subject.

To answer your question...

There are a few things to remember...
(1). FP expires every 15 months. So if your AOS application has been pending for over 15 months, you would be required to re-take your FP/Bio for every 15 months that your application is pending.

(2). Your medical results expire after 12 months unless USCIS issues a memo that extends the validity of the I-693 indefinitely. If there is no such memo issued, and your AOS has been pending for over 12 months, you will be asked to produce a new I-693 or bring it with you to the interview.

(3). Mostly, the FP/Bio for the I-485 and I-765 are done on the same day in a single appt. It does not really matter if there were one or two appts. Some applicants who do not apply for EAD have to go only for FP/Bio only for the I-485.

(4) If you have been married for less than 2 years at the day of your interview, the officer would focus more on your financial stability and how you meet the minimum income requirement. As long as you meet or exceed the requirement, you should be fine. You have 2 years then to prove that your marriage is bonafide and remove conditions.

(5) If your financial situation has changed since you sent the I-864 with your AOS package, you need to be ready with a new I-864 for the interview as the officer would definitely ask for it.

thanks i for the info ,its a combination of being frustrated and anxious, and reading so many posts sometimes i get confused thanks again its all becoming more clear and i am still new to forum, i just joined this month.
