Anybody knows about what the new B visa policy is exactly?

I am confused by all kinds of news and rumors. Does anybody know where to find the latest policy regarding B visas? Now the parent visitors will get 30 days or 6 months or it depends? Please help. Thanks!
 
My parents came on Thursday and they got for 6 months I-94

They have visited earlier 2 times, and this time they asked for 3 months and got for 6 months at EWR airport.

Here is the Q/A session at the EWR with the INS officer, and my parents.

Q. What you do in India and what brings you here?
A. We have a business in India and that we are here to attend a marraige and stay with our son.

Q. How can you stay away for 3 months from your business?
A. My elder son takes care in our absense, and I am just the Chairman of the Board.

The INS officer said, thank you sir, and enjoy your trip,

When was that? Do you know if you parents can apply for an extension of another 6 months? It seems my parents can ask for 6 months directly in the entry, right?
