Guys,

Anyone who has recently filed their I-751 at Texas Service Center...please share your experiences as to how the forwarding process to vermont works.

was you application packet directly transferred to vermont?
how long it took for you guys to see that your application has been delivered etc.

Please share. I have mailed my I-751 to Texas Service Center on the 15th and still no update about the delivery. All i know is it is has been processed at Essex Junction Vermont.

I am sure someone would have gone through this.....please let me know what your experience was. I am worried......i sent it thru express mail and its been 4 days.

Thanks in advance

There is a new memo from May 23rd about the filing for I-751 and is in effect.

CSC and VSC are the only service centers processing I-751. If you sent it to TSC will be forward to VSC, same with NSC to CSC...that will take time to be forwarded. Could be a week or so I guess?

Thanks a bunch Cherr1980. I wish i had known this before....i would have avoided all the confusion and wait. As long as it reaches VSC i am fine. I guess i will have to wait at least an year from the day i filed for the 10 yr card. After reading various posts looks like VSC takes forever to process I-751.

Thanks again for the valuable info. I am a bit relieved now.

It will get there...give it a week.
Well, what can I say...well they are reaching Sep07 finally...but nothing like CSC.

zombie2006,

you updated your signature to received at VSC.
Did you get that from a status change at usps.com?

Mine still shows 'Your item was processed and left our ESSEX JUNCTION, VT 05452' and Processed --- ESSEX JUNCTION, VT 05452 in the details

Yes i got the update from USPS.com. It was delivered on 17th but it took 4 days for them to update that on their website.

"Status: Delivered
Your item was delivered at 12:15 PM on July 17, 2008 in SAINT ALBANS, VT 05479 to INS . The item was signed for by P NOVAK. "

I mailed mine on the 15th.

OK our package was received the next day in VT, just received the update. So it only took 1 day to get from Texas to VT, that's good.

I-751 How does the divorce influence my case?

Hi friends, here is my situation hoping to get some advice.

I came to the US on December 14, 2005 on K1 visa and got married on Feb.16, 2006. My conditional green card was approved on September 7, 2006. In July 2007, I divorced my husband in despiar because I wanted a baby while my husband was stubborn enough not to give me one(He has two kids from his previous marriage). I returned to my country after the divorce.

Three months later, however, I returned as I thought I was happier to live with my husband than live by myself. We had been living together as boyfriend and girlfriend till June 2008 when it was time for me to apply for removing the conditions of my greencard. We consulted an immigration lawyer and were told it would be hard for me to get a new greencard since I was divorced. We were afraid of being seperate by being unmarried, so we re-married again on June 26,2008.

I filed I-751 on July 7, 2008 and I received a I-797, Notice of Action on July 15,2008. My conditional green card will expire on September 7, 2008

My questions are:

Will the divorce cause me any problems in going through the procedure of getting me a new green card?

My husband is going to travel to my country for a long term job in early August, he will have to buy a ticket today or tomorrow, and I will have to follow him as his translator. But my conditional green card will expire on Spetember 7, 2008. Will I be able to travel back on the I-797, Notice of Action?

I will appreciate very much your kind advice or suggestions. Thank you very much in advance.

I don't know about the complications regarding divorce and re-marriage but you should be fine traveling with your existing green card and the NOA which states that your green card has been extended while your case is pending. Also if you want to feel more comfortable you can get an infopass at your local DO and get your passport stamped showing them the NOA and the green card about to expire in September.

Anyone wants to add on this.

Thank you very much,zombie2006, that is very helpful.

I checked with the http://infopass.uscis.gov/
But it says "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later. ". BTW, I live in Atlanta area.

I will make a call to the local INS office on Monday to see what happens.
Good luck to you!

BTW, zombie2006, I didn't use any express mail service when I sent the I-751 documents. I sent it to TSC by Trackable Postal Priority Mail Service on July 7, 2008, and the NOA states that it was received on July 10, 2008.

The NOA from Vermont Service Center arrived at my mail box on July 15, 2008.

So the express mail doesn't make things faster and an Internet trackable Priority Mail Service is very dependable and only costs US$4.

I am sorry, USPS Express Mail is one day faster. :)

I mailed mine to TSC on the 15th and it reached VSC on the 17th. So i was pretty happy about that. Actually i was in no hurry but just for a little peace of mind i used express mail. But you are right it wouldn't have mattered if i had used trackable priority instead.

I am still waiting for my NOA. Some of them got their NOA's real quick. It didn't take much longer for you too.

Hope everything goes well for all of us and we should get onto the Citizenship board around this time next year.

Yes, zombie2006, don't worry, everything will turn out alright especially when you are not in an urgent need of travel.
I will update my timeline if there is anything new. :) Best Luck to you and all of us!

:) It took 10 days for the NOA to reach you!

I just came back from the local ASC and the security man at the door didn't let me in. He told me before I received the NOA2, I couldn't do the Walk-In biometric service. :(

I had InfoPass appointment on August 11,2008 to get a stamp on my passport, but I went to the local immigration office today to try my luck. The receptionist told me to come back at 6:30am on the coming Thursday when they weren't as busy as today. :)
