Anybody From/Connected To Mathura, Uttar Pradesh on this Board

I do not have original BC nor is there any official record of my birth. Submitted 2 affidavits (from elder sis and uncle) stating details of my birth. INS also needs letter from Birth Registrar/Muncipality of place of birth that birth was not registered and hence BC is not available. In my case it was not possible to go to my birth place to get the letter. Instead I submitted a letter from NY Indian Consulate stating that prior to 1969 birth registration was not compulsory and hence BC for such cases are not available. Some kind of a blanket protection. I hope INS understands the issues. To be on the conservative side, I am expecting an RFE on this issue. The problem is that my dad was posted for a very short time in Mathura, where I was born. Thereafter we have had no connections to that place. I am trying to get the letter from Mathura Birth Registrars office but no luck as of yet.

ANYBODY FROM/CONNECTIONS IN MATHURA ON THIS BOARD CAN HELP ME OUT??? I need to get a letter from there just to be on the safe side.

Do you guys think that I will get an RFE for BC?

IMHO the 2 Affidavits should Suffice, dont Worry Buddy. If I find the Related Info I will post it here.

Userid SAMBHAR received RFE for BC. That scared me and I think that RFE for me will be issued.

Anybody from/near Mathura can help me out?? Please read first posting on this thread.

I had an inquiry about the birth certificate too but I was able to get the letter from district Municipal corporation. I didn't submit the affidevit document. I am hoping that should suffice the purpose.

Is ur letter from Mathura district Municipal corporation? Was it a Birth Cert or BC non avail letter?

INS may ask for 2 affidavits from you. Hope that does not happen and u get approved.

What is ur RD?

I did not have BC or non-availablity at the time of filing 485. Submitted 2 affidavits from parents.... and it worked.

There are few other cases as well on this board (Check with Anita Gupta) who got approved with affidavits. I think affidavits are enough. Thats what my lawyer also told me.

But after filing 485, I got my BC just to be on the safer side. But I never required that.
