I just got my AP and haven\'t got EAD yet, I want to visit China soon,
did anybody ever use AP to visit China and back to US recently?
Please post your experience here.

I would like to know what the documents the airport officer and airline
check/require, I heard somebody said I need carry EAD card with me as well as 485 receipts and AP itself, is this true ?

which Airport is accepting AP easier ? my hometown is a mid-size city,
not like Beijing , Shanghai, I want take flight from my hometown to
HongKong then to US , so I need do the procedure at my hometown airport,
is this a problem to come back ? I heard some small city airport doesn\'t
recognize what is AP , they only recognize US visa and green card.

Thanks in advance for Guru\'s help.

JimZ, thanks anyway.

I am hoping someone will come up, I once saw couple posts regarding
this , one guy said he had no problem at Shanghai Pudong airport, the other one said she was held for two hours at Fuzhou airport due to
officer not familiar with AP.

But going through Hongkong is convenient for me, I don\'t want use
Shanghai as entry/exit, that\'s why I ask here.

Appreciate any help.

should be easy

i used my AP to Beijing a month ago. Beijing Airport had no problem with my AP and they even didn\'t take a look at my picture. When in Detriot, they only need my passport, I-94 and AP. They will replace with a new I-94 to reflect the info on your AP. That\'s it. Not sure about other airport in China, u might need to give them some explanations. As to EAD, it doesn\'t hurt if you carry it, thought i never used it.

Good luck,
Jack

finally a reply, jjd, thanks a lot.

It looks I have to (reluctantly) choose either Beijing or Shanghai as my entry/exit point, since it seems other airport is going to cost me a lot of explaining time.

thanks.

Don\'t get me wrong, just would like to know

Why does china let people go and work in USA but not let them visit ?

I know for India there is Multiple H1, there is nothing like that for China

Thanks

we can\'t get Multiple H1 valid for years like Indian people do.

even though we could have H1 visa, it\'s only valid for 3 months and two entries, so it\'s not supprised we prefer using AP since it\'s valid
for a year and multiple entries and renewable.

Chinese officer will eventually let people having AP come back to US
but I\'m just afraid I will have some hard time to explain the validity of AP with officer since most of them don\'t understand English (this
is not the case in India), so I need choose the least troubling place to land, that\'s why we have this discussion here.

hope this satisfy your curiosity.

thanks for the reply

I work with a chinese woman, she didn\'t visit china for 8 years. I will let her know that, so that she can see her parents.
