You can reapply, but you should be able to overcome the reason for the previous refusal. If you don't you will be refused again and wasted an additional $550.00

Thanks PMM,

I was not refused the first time. I got approved, landed and came back since I couldn't find a job. Now that my 3yr clock is approaching, I am wondering if I could reapply again.

Thanks,

Can someone please tell me what exactly is the 3 year limit. I have applied for Canadian PR. Its half-way through. My question is once I get the PR, what happens if I actually dont move to Canada. How long can I be in the US before I have to move to Canada.
Also if I dont move when can I re-apply

Once you land as a PR you will have to stay in Canada for 2 years out of 5 to maintain your PR status. The time starts the day you land in Canada. So if you landed in Canada as PR in April 2005 and went back to US, (OR any other country) you can return to Canada in March 2008 and still be a PR.

BUT keep in mind that if you stay out of Canada for an extended period of time you may have to prove to the immigration official, when you return, that you want to establish yourself as a PR (and not using Canada as a back up plan).
