Anybody applied for DATV for UK

Please share your experience. Whether your DATV was approved or not ? How long did it take for you to get back your passport and other originals.

I sent my Passport and other originals on 10/24. I am awaiting a response.

Sure

DATV stands for Direct Airside Transit Visa. It is transit visa which is needed if your aircraft lands at UK. Of course, there are some exclusions and you can read more about this if you are interested at http://www.britainusa.com/visas/visas.asp

My wife got a DATV last week from LA consulate.

1. Submitted online appilcation, paid fee using credit card ($63 ).
2. Sent supporting documents by FedEx
Original Passport
Original Ticket
Original I-485 Receipt Notice
Original Advance Parole document
Copy of Itenerary
3. They processed the appication in two days and sent us everything (except for the Itenerary copy) back by FedEx overnight (included in $63).
4. The visa is valid for 6 months.

The entire process took less than a week.

Got the DATV stamped in the passport today (10/30) morning. So, it took 4 business days in all.

you have to get a visa and pay $63...to just LAND at the stinkin' airport? do you have to geta DATV ( or whatever the *#&* its called) even if you are just passing thru in transit?
