Any Tampa DO People

Do you know if these ceremonies also include people changing their names? I am scheduled to interview 06/23, and if it's going to take a long time waiting for a ceremony where you can change your name I will not go for that and just the name change afterwards....thanks

You can do the name check afterwards any time..much easier afterwards actually. So, enjoy the Oath ceremony and not worry about anything else.

Any opinions,

The IO told me at my interview on May 27th that I should get my Oath letter very quickly because they were schedualing for the June ceremony.
Does the IO choose which ceremony I will be scheduled with, or is it out of his hands. I know some people were told August, and others received their Oath letter for June.

I'm worried about something happening to the Oath letter, and maybe missing the ceremony that I am scheduled for.
How can I find out my actual Oath date? I called the main number, but they said they cannot look into it for 90 days, but if I am supposed to be in the June ceremony, 90 days later will be too late.
The June ceremony is set for the 19th

Is there any way to contact the IO, or should I even try?

I live 2 hours from the Service center, so it's a day lost to drive there for an infopass appointment .

Thanks for any help.

well, if you don't receive a letter just show up, I am guessing they'll probably inform you at the Convention Center before you take the oath......besides taking two oaths never killed somenone...;)

I finally received my Oath letter today.

It is for the 19th of June,at 8:00 am, just as the IO had told me.
I can't wait for that day.

Good luck to everyone who is still going through the long process

This all began on July 27th 2007 for me.

Awesome news, pleased it is almost over for you! So it seems the Oath is pretty hot on the heels of the interview. My interview is July 24th; so maybe I might get to vote after all......!

Does any one have any update on this Tampa timeline. Our case is different the regular case since we have changed the address. Any way we have applied from West Palm Beach on Oct. 21, 2007 and received the FP for Feb, 21 2008 for WPB. But we were able to do the fingerprint in Tampa last week.We will see what we can do.
Thanks.

Good luck with your interview, My IO was very nice, and the process very relaxed.

You should get your Oath letter shortly after your interview.

The best of luck to everyone

Any one from Tampa Do who filed for N400 this year(Jan-April) and have already received an Interview Letter? I know few lucky ones from Jacksonville have already received their IL after sending N400 in 3rd week of April. I wonder any lucky ones from Tampa DO. I filed my N400 in April 22 and had FP done in May 15th. I am expecting to receive my IL by August 15th 2008 if I am lucky. Please share your thougts. Thanks friends.

My Tampa timeline

Here is my Tampa timeline:

* 11/2/07 - mailed N-400
* 11/6/07 - received date
* 12/28/07 - checks cached
* 12/31/07 - notice date
* 2/19/08 - fingerprinting notice sent
* 3/11/08 - fingerprinting date

I call the USCIS number periodically (every 3-4 weeks) to check the status. After I get past the first line of customer service "specialists" I am able to talk to the IO. Last time I called was in the middle of May. I was told that my case was moving along well and it was undergoing FBI background check. It wasn't in the queue for scheduling for interview at that time.

Here's my current progress through Tampa:

03 June 2008 - N400 Sent to TSC
05 June 2008 - N400 Received Date
05 June 2008 - N400 Priority Date
26 June 2008 - First Fingerprinting Appointment Date

Have a few questions:

1) What is "Priority Date"?
2) Are there more fingerprints?
3) what's the avarage timeline between first fingerprint and interview dates?

Hi Everyone,

The Oath ceremony went well yesterday. It started at 8:00am, and finished about 10:30am. There were 500 people participating, and there were going to be another 500 in the afternoon ceremony.
There were people from 65 different Countries being sworn in.

Good luck to everyone

I doubt it - my priority date was Aug 2007, my interview is on 24th Jul. Which seems to fit with what everyone else has been saying. The process has all sped up massively recently, but if anyone who filed this year has gotten in front, it will have been by luck. Tampa certainly is one of the slowest moving places in the country as far as I can make out.
