Hi-

Thank you.

i have similar situation .DOS had sent favourable recommendation to uscis in jan 06 and i received receipt notice on jan 06 , eversince i am waiting for final waiver approval notice 1-612.
do anyone have suggestion what should i do ?

If you were from Vermont Service Center, on line case status showed processing cases with I-612 is on Feb 23, 2006 (Nebraska, Texas), California - Nov22, 2005 (https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp?) on Aug 28. So. California applicants are good to wait and others should contact to related service center. But I have no idea which way is the best to contact them.

i have contacted my service center and requested to make an inquiry about my case .lets see what happens?its frustating to wait for final approval for so long .

How did you contact your service center? By mail or email? Have you called their tel number too?

Hello Mlinoo,

From the details of your J1 waiver progress report, why didn't you go through the sponsors view stage? Is the sponsors view not a requisite for everyone? Thanks

metoo99 can you please tell us more about sponsor view stage and that how it will help to expedite final waiver approval i mean 1-612 NOC .??

Hello Mlinoo,

Here is how its stands:

Request for Sponsor Views Sent June 06, 2006
Sponsor Views Requested June 06, 2006
No Objection Statement Received May 18, 2006
Fee Received February 16, 2006
Form DS-3035 Received February 16, 2006
Form DS-2019 Received February 16, 2006
Form G-28 Received February 16, 2006
Statement Of Reason Received February 16, 2006
Instruction Sheet Sent February 16, 2006

According to my sponsors-Ford Foundation, they have sent their views to DOS(that was back in mid-june and DOS have still not updated my status. I was wondering why you did not go through the "sponsor view " satge in your case

Hi metoo99,
Applicants (from Academia or research based) to J-1 waiver on No objection from own embassy usually don't need sponsor's view. Financial support also supported by academic supervisor's grant. They usually don't need sponsor's view. That is only my opinion. I don't know exactly. Please explain if someone know about it.

I haven't received the receipt after one month from the date of DOS sending recommendation. I called to Natioal Customer Service Center 800-375-5283 (call them b/w 8AM and 6PM in your local time) and check if they received the package or not with my full name and DOB (after 50 minutes waiting). They didn't have any yet. I was advised to contact DOS 202-663-1225 (tremendous amount of message going before a live assistant). They asked me to fax my request to re-send another package to USCIS. They suspected my package missing.

Hope this to be helpful.

well, I called USCIS today as well. they told me on the phone that they won't send me a receipt, they will just notify me about final decision...she said she can't confirm if they received the recommendation or not, she said wait 90 days for decision and if I don't hear anything in 90 days call them back.
it seems like every time we talk to someone they sy something different.
Thanks.

You should have I612 Receipt Notice since it is a kind of waiver for fee for J-1 final waiver petition. You can write the person whom DOS sent forward your application directly.
