Plan to DIY NIW. Ph.D from a US university. Now half year postdoc in other university. Both advisors are famous in their own field (not quite related). 10 publications in English Journals, 4 first author. Citation more than 20 for first author paper, some are on the review articles. 7 people already agreed to write letter for me, one from Europe, one from canada. Others are in US. one is from national lab, other are professors in the university. No awards and patents.
Is it enough to submit my NIW case now? And what else can i do to strong my case? I may get some other people to write a letter for me. BUt don't want to ask them now. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I dont want to discourage you... but honestly to me...your achivements seem to be very less....One never knows you may get lucky...

Q. Is it enough to submit my NIW case now?
A. Difficult to answer... You seem to be an upcoming scientist not an established one.. since your publications are less..citations are very low..etc.

Q. And what else can i do to strong my case?
A. Publish more papers.. If possible obtain chance to act as reviewer/referee of journals...

Q. I may get some other people to write a letter for me. BUt don't want to ask them now. Any suggestions?
A. Seems to be a good idea ! You may need them later when you have a moutain of RFE to climb.

Is your work of NIW?
Are the letters from University independent letters i.e. from people who have never worked with you and who go by your work.
Try to get letters from people who have cited you.
Also, you should prove that you are disinguished.

My work is quite basic theoretial study, hard to say it's related with NIW. Two letters will come from my previous advisor and current advisor. One is come from professor I have been worked with. I never worked with other four, only one of them cited my articles twice.
I am quite frustrated now. Maybe I should wait for more publications. But it takes a long time to get them published. Any suggestion?
