Surprising.... I haven't seen any threads for pending SEP 2001 cases... Is it just me waiting for my approval ???

LIN-02-020-XXXXX

RD : 09/25/01
ND : 10/26/01
RFE : 02/25/03
RFE response received by INS on 04/11

Its so frustrating...

You are not the only one!!

I have had no communication from BCIS, not even an RFE. My details are:

RD: 9/13/01
ND: 10/16/01
FP: 1/17/02

I had started a thread a couple of weeks back on this, but there did not seem to be too many Sept 01 waiters out there.

Did you get notice for 2nd FP yet? If you have one, that means they are still working. If not, it is not the end of the world. Mine expired before you, no notice. RD Aug :D

Is it fact or folklore?

Do you really require to get another set of fingerprints after a certain time has elapsed, or is this another charming piece of fiction about the immigration process?
I find the idea of fingerprints 'expiring' quite absurd and don't see why anyone would be required to be fingerprinted again. People's fingerprints do not change over time, and the only other possible reason could be that the BCIS loses confidence in whether or not it got it right the first time, after a given length of time. Or is it too much to expect the BCIS to do things for good reason?
That said, neither I, nor any of my other three family members have received a second fingerprint notice.

I got an RFE on December 2001. NSC received my response on Jan 6th. Then I have been waiting. Havn't got an notice or update.

Found this article in Murthy forum :

***************
People often ask, "How can fingerprints expire?" as they do not change. It is not actually the fingerprints that expire, but the reports that are generated from the fingerprints. The fingerprints are not retained, so an updated report cannot be obtained without new fingerprints. This change, hopefully, will fix the problem and help the case processing times in a small way, at least.

Called at least five times after replying to the RFE. Conflicting answers each time, like assigned, not assigned, will take few months , processing August etc. etc. They are very creative about this, every time it's different. I'm planning to call every other week....

Here's my question :

Just like they have a 90 day period by which we need to reply to an RFE, is there any time frame by which an officer is required to make a decision on the pending case, from the date which BCIS received RFE response ??

Someone told me its again a 90 day period.. but not sure..
