Any RFE experience recently? Is 3-paystud asked in any case?

Hi, Guys:
I heard from my friends that REF has been required for a lot of cases recently. Is it true? He said INS may request either employment letter or 3 recent pay checks.
How can this be consistent with all the discussion of "it\'s safe to change employer within 180 days"? If you change employer or get laidoff, where can you get the employment letter or three paycheck even your case is reviewed after 180 filing days?
I have heard from this site that somebody\'s GC application is rejected because of REF. I don\'t know how and when this happened. So please give your opinion on this.
Any input will be highly appreciated.

RFE for GC

I just had my I-140 approved after RFE. I need to give them letters from my employer and previous employers and also pay stubs. But onmce INS got it it was approved within a week.
