I did receive it last week. RD around Nov 28/04. My wife has a RD 1 day before mine (Nov 27 I think) and she hasn't received anything.

Has anybody approved in Feb. 04 time frame. I know the recent RTD approvals are from Dec 15, 2003, however I heard someone saying in this forum that his date was Feb 05, 2004 and he got approved through his lawyer.
Do lawyers have the power (by insider contacts) to expedite cases. If there is such lawyer plz pass on his name and number to me.
Gilbert??? anybody

I applied with a Receipt Date of Nov 13, and got approved on March 17, which was faster than I expected (I was checking the processing time on line). I did apply through a lawyer, but I don't think she did anything special about it.

Hello Everyone!

I am still waiting for my RTD (RD December 10, 2003). According to the latest processing times as of June 15, 2004 on AILA.ORG, the current RTD processing date is December 22, 2003. I will be missing a wedding this weekend in the UK due to the delay. I had written 3 letters of expedition of my application, including one to the NSC director himself to no avail.

Does anyone know whether the national customer service number can help me find out what is going on with my application? Is there anything else I can do? Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I applied in Feb 2004 as I have to attend a wedding in canada this year in september. But the way they are moving at a snails pace, I have already started to get worried even for september

Hatari,

My wife has RD Nov 27 and still nothing

Is there nothing we can do?

I feel all of you. I have an upcoming event to attend in Canada too (September) and I renewed in January 2004. Now I'm also worried if my RTD won't arrive in time.

Is there really nothing we can do to expedite our applications? I'm sure our letters of request mean nothing to them, and I doubt the BCIS customer service can do anything about it either.

As a last resort, does anyone know if it'll make a difference if we were to show up in person at the Lincoln office?

Also, has this issue of having to renew out RTDs annually been addressed by any immigration organizations (e.g. AILF)? It's astounding how problematic this scenario is, and the expensive price we have to pay for it ($160 now, much more than any national passports and they're valid for years)? It seems so terribly unfair. You would think it's logical for the BCIS to extend the expiration of the RTDs to decrease paperwork at their end, but I guess they want their cake and eat it too - charge us more, but still give us less!

And to top it off, we still have to put up with all the random questions/weird stares from the airline personnel, foreign immigration officers, etc. It's ironic that we're forking out premium prices for travel documents that still make us feel like second class citizens. It's quite infuriating when you think about it.

I have even tried my Congressman's office and they are as unfriendly as anyone could be. (of course they do not want votes from us and by the time we would be citizens, they would either be dead or retired from politics). So they have no interest there.

Showing up at Lincoln seems to be a very interesting proposition but let me tell you this that you will not be allowed inside nor allowed to meet staff. I knew of an attorney's group who visited Texas service center and Nebraska service center and they reported that these facilities are guarded like "Fort Knox" do not even have windows.

We are pretty much at the mercy of INS till we become citizens (hopefully some distant time in future)

best wishes,

As someone mentioned earlier, the Nebraska center is processing as of June 04 cases with receipt date of Dec 05 and earlier. There is a about 6-month delay.

I looked up my notes in my diary, and found that as of Feb 20 this year, the Center was processing cases with receipt date of Aug 1, 2003, again about a 6-month delay.

I don't think there is any evidence that for majority RTD cases, the processing time is slowing down. Of course, there are always some cases that may take longer, but they may not be the norm.

Hello All-

Just an update. My RTD was finally approved today...here is the timeline:

RD: December 10, 2003
Approved: July 8, 2004

Was starting to think they had lost my application. A little bit of hope for those who are still waiting. Take care everyone.

My RD is December, 22 2003. I have had several RTDs and never had any problems with receiving them, but my recent status online says, that they sent a letter on July 2 requesting RFE on my RTD..... What could they possibly want from me??? I sent them my old RTD with the application...
