Hello,

My family won DV in 2009 and we moved to US in March 2009. my family had remain in US since then. i have been in and out of US twice. first for 1 month to complete my program in germany( we moved in from germany, though we are nigerians). then stayed in US from may 2009 till early october 2009 and then travelled to nigeria for 3 months. i returned in january 2010 and stayed for only 17days. i will be returning finally to settle down in june,as i will be resuming work in july. i noticed that whenever i travel into US i undergo additional immigration processes and sometimes had to wait upto 45 minutes and be questioned about my trips. now just wondering if there is any problem with my moving in and out of US.
PLEASE ADVICE

Every little trip is in their computer and they can and will check on it. It is up to the person conducting te checks to decide if they want to proceed to do additional checking or not...

Friends of mine who never travelled other then on a tourist visa and did that for years had this time huge issues coming in and now learned you can't just come in on a tourist visa unlimited. You have to stay under 180 days in total in a year and were advised by a very good lawyer to have proof of health care with them since right now they are cracking down on tourist coming down here who stay long or overstay and have no health care....

Before there weren't any issues traveling in and out but it seems the US is getting more and more strict in their checks and have announced that more interviews will be conducted...

Thanks to the Dec. diaper guy and all his so called friends!:(

I don't think any one can answer that question other than immigration and they probably won't answer it due to security reasons, and you don't want to open your self to make the authorities aware of something that might not be an issue.

You probably know just as I do that Nigeria is not a country that is looked at in a very positive way due to the diaper incident in Dec. and the guy being born in Nigeria and other things that have happened in many countries lately. Germany had their portion as well just as other countries. nobody really knows what they are looking at.

My friends who had an issue on arrival and where told they would be deported, send back, then told their visa waiver would only be good for one month and after 2 hours they got if for the same time as usual....they went every where and called lawyers, Washington, went to immigration and in the end didn't get a real answer and I know for sure they never over satyed or did anything wrong. A lawyer advised them on what to have with them in the future on arrival to show additional proof so they might have less issues....

But you stated you had a succesful interview so based on that I don't see an issue when you arrive here....so you were already checked...:)

You probably never will find out the reason. Homeland security will tell you that is part of National security and they can't disclose it. You can call Washington but might up getting the same as my friends did...never got a call back. They went to immigration at the airport and didn't get an answer other than "National security prohibits us from telling".

It could be the places you have traveled to and from and/or why you stayed out of the country so long, if you paid taxes overhere and kept a perminent status under the GC requirements....

It probably won't get any better only worse thanks to all the crazy losers who put diapers on and put bombs in their shoes which causes the rest of us to not having much fun traveling anymore as it was 10 years ago....

Hello Samko,

Please read this article http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/us...nnel=3f443a4107083210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD

It is from the source, it could be a real problem not living in the country for long without obtaining a reentry permit or returning resident visa. The other person is giving his assumptions that are way too dangerous. Use common sense.

Good luck!

if you comming from the countries which are considered to be on the ''black list '' by HS then it could be tough on the border - lots of people noticed shift in screening process on the border in recent months (by immigration officers)- if you come from such country and you been away for say considerable time (6-7 months or longer )- it could be that you underwent some kind of training (ideological or military )in your country of origin or some other country
lots of screening in the past was done in the manner of ''political ''correctnes- i.e. lots of people got stoped and asked questions for no reson what so ever - even if they come from countries which did not sponsor terrorism or are not even muslim (like my country - where muslims make only about 0.02% of total polpulation)-but it looks like someone finaly put the end to it (finaly) so now the screening is done by ''Israel system" -i.e.extensive profiling by using cross checked data
