Good job Armin - listen, did you ever find out if your Name Check got cleared? Also, did you go forward with your WOM? Do you think you got the second interview on the basis of anything you did different (threatened lawsuit, WOM etc?)
As you've guessed I'm still waiting. I got a phonecall from that Michael Cannon guys office (the FBI) that you (Armin) provided in the posts above. They said they'll review my letter early next week. Other than that I have no other progress on my end. I'm thinking hey, even if the FBI reviews my letter and then tells me that I'm OK and my name check is clear - well, then what?
Please do let me know if you went ahead with a WOM, as I get the feeling that may have been the reason your case has been moved along.

that's great that you got some response back from Mr. cannon's office.No i have not file wom. i used your template letter and send many other letters to every uscis offices. i believe people (male) who got their GC through asylum and are from any country in middle east, will go through additional filters.
My fbi name check was cleared 3 months before my interview date. it took uscis exactly 5 months after my interview to send me another interview letter.i hope and pray that this time every thing goes smoothly.
have you ever contacted ombudsman office? if yes what do they say.

Wow, glad to see that things are moving along for you. I'm stuck. I've had no positive news. I got my GC some 18 years ago. A relative sponsored me as a kid - so I've been in the system for a long time. Only reason I never applied for citizenship any earlier is because, well, I didn't feel the need for it really. I mean, I can live here, work here and do most things your average man does. I'm a UK citizen (born and raised) but heritage is Pakistani, so I think that is where the extra checks are.
I've sent that same letter (template) to all the agencies that I know of - I've had no luck yet. None, whatsoever!

Britishguy..time for you to hire a lawyer. A good one. I feel only way you are stuck is if your name matches someone or things like that. Best of luck.

what do they (uscis) say ? additional reviews , NC ,etc. what is their reason for your case delay ?
wantmygcnow is right. i know lawyers are expensive , but if you want your case to move a long you need one. when i was stuck in my GC NC, i found a lawyer who would do WOM for $2000.
