Any one got b2 visa the last week or so....

my father in law has applied for B2 visa at the chennai consulate on april 4 via dropbox. He has not yet received any response.
Is anyone in the same boat. I thought a week wa the maximum time for anyone to get a decision on th e visa..
This is very unusual for Chennai consulate.
Pls share ur experiences.

I am in the same boat. My father gave the papers to the travel agent (in Visakhapatnam, AP) on 08 April, 2003. Till now there is no answer. They are planning to come here in May for 4 - 6 months.

Did you apply from Chennai directly? Or did you apply from any other city coming under Chennai consulate?

Received 6 mths visa on April 24,2003

My fuil recd 6 mths visitor visa on April 23. Do not know why he did not receive 10 yr multple entry...
 
my parents got visa from Calcutta ...

They got 1 year visa from calcutta consulate on Apr 25th. They used the drop box as my Dad is 65+.

Submitted on 22nd April got the passports 25th April. Pretty fast !!

my father in law age 62 applied from Bangalore thru dropbox to chennai consulate. note: only my fil, my mil passed away early this year and both the sons are in us.
so we were a little scare as to whether my fil will get the vis and we were very happy that he did.

Hi all,
Can you give information on whether the visitor needs to send original doucments (property/financial statements ) if the application is via dropbox. Or would it suffice if we just send copies of the above mentioned documents (property/financial statements ) in addition to other things that are required (passport, phot etc.).


If anyone can give the list of things that the visitor needs to include in the package that is sent for visa application via dropbox , it would be very much appreciated.
