Any new developments on spouse AOS status which was pending even after primary pet. approval

Mine and daugter\'s was approved on Aug. 8th and wife\'s case is still pending.
I had seen from the postings that several people experienced same thing. I had also seen that
in two cases the petitions were transferred to local offices and those two were recent cases (08/16/00)

I am interested to know the news from other\'s to get some input to what is happening and why wife\'s case still pending.

RD 4/99, ND 5/99 approved 08/08/00

No news yet on my wife\'s application either. I guess I started the celebration too soon. The waiting continues...

Anyway, my details: EB2(RIR) - India - PD Dec97 - RD Jun99 - ND Jul99 - FP Jun00 - Approved 08/14/00. I received the original approval letter from my lawyer - am debating whether to go ahead and get my passport stamped.

I called up the INS office twice since then - was told that this is not usual as the dependent\'s application should stay with the primary applicant. He did mention that my wife\'s application is with an officer; he also recommended that I should follow up in a week. My lawyer informed me that this is happens all the time... Oh well.

My case is almost the same: RD May99, ND June99, FP June2000 and I-485 approved
for me (primary) and my daughter on Aug-11-2000. My wife\'s case still pending.

I did not call but my laywer did last Friday and was told it\'s still pending.

Do you think we should contact congressmen and senators?

I called FBI two months ago and was told that both FPs were
cleared. My wife\'s FP reached FBI one week later than mine
although we did FPs on the same day.

Anyway, when my lawyer called VSC, they did not say that
my wife\'s FP was missing.

Then hopefully everything should be fine. But I have read a number of cases on the board where they are holding the spouse approval for months. Can\'t figure out what they have against indian spouses!! anyway all the best.

My wife called up VSC today. She was told that she will have to redo her FPs as they "could not be read" - whatever that means. The IIO was surprised that we did not know about this. She (IIO) suggested that we should contact our lawyer and find out whether they have received the FP redo notice - if not then have the lawyer contact INS (I guess to re-issue the notice). I am not sure when the notice was mailed.

Does anyone have any idea why her FPs were rejected and how long for approval after re-doing the FP ? Thanks in advance.

Same case with me. My wife\'s case was withheld for no reason. I spoke with them on Monday. They said that her file is complete and we should hear froom them in 3 weeks. Give a call if we do not hear in four weeks.

RFE mailed on 25th Aug. as per message and not yet received.
We visited INS St. Albans but of no use except they politely informed same thing.

Hi,

I just call VSC IIO a minute ago and she said that my wife\'s case
is still pending. She said that my wife\'s FP is OK. The IIO is also
a little bit confued why it\'s still pending. She said I will probably
have to wait for another two weeks.

Interesting. I also live in Burlington,VT. I had mine approved in July 2000 and got stamped a month back in St.Albans,VT. Would you please post when you get your plastic so that we can have an idea ?. I will post once I get my card. Still the message has not changed in my case.Expecting to receive the card.
