Does anyone have any names and suggestions on the best lawyers in the US? I have contacted Carl Shusterman and have a phone appointment with him on Monday. Any ideas would be appreciate since I don't have much time left cuz I need response to the letter by Sept 27, which is two weeks from now.

I really appreciate everyone's input on my labor certification problem. The letter I got from the labor department is a letter with intent to deny application which means my LC is not denied yet but that they are considering of denying it if I couldn't provide evidence to explain why the job description is restrictive. On the letter however, I am not given the option to readvertise. So my lawyer plans to request for that but he said most likely the Labor department will not grant the consent for me to readvertise

This is the best advice I can give you. Come and read this forum as much as you can. Do the homework, the best of you can. Once you are done, then select any lawyer who might be the one who just came out finishing his JD (any given college) (even 4th tier), when he/she prepares the doc for processing, make sure you will have an opportunity to look it over and over again. Be right on the ball of your court. Otherwise even you choose, Carl or Rajiv or Murthy or anyone, they can screw you big time if you cannot give any input to them.

Saun,

I feel sorry about your situation.

While I was browsing through the site, I came across few folks who faced similar situations. Here are some whom you can try to contact in order to get directions on dealing with yours:

sm11299

He/she got NOF with intent to deny, which finally got approved. Check this thread : http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=217072

Try contacting mvinays, saknia and unitednations on this baord. Based on their posts here it is my belief that these folks know how to work the system.

In terms of lawyers one of my friend has used the services of a high profile (be warned he charges hefty amount on per hour basis) immigration attorney to get his GC after the initial labor got rejected because of some screw up by the company. This was in 2002/2003, before the BEC's came into play.

Attorney's info:
Robert White
www.masudafunai.com

Once I had used the services of Murthy Law firm to discuss about changing job/employer while on 7th year H1. Mine was a 30 minute phone consultation with one of their attorneys for a decent fee. Keep in mind my situation was totally different from yours.

Also you can consider Rajiv Khanna, the attorney who hosts this forum/site.

If you need more details feel free to send me private message.

Goodluck!

In continuation, i would recommend:
Brikho & Kallabat
Joe Kallabat is very responsive.
There cite: insvisa.com

Again, as LaborDragas mentioned above...it is imperative that you understand everything that is going to be put up.
goodluck.
rgds.

Thank you so much for all of your responses. I have set up appointments with two different lawyers. I will let you know of the outcome of my LC. Until then, wish we luck!

I really appreciate your suggestions and comments.

Saun,

Just a note - an 'intent to deny' is not a 'death sentence' on your LC. Many times, the DOL will be stupid and request a current PW determination for a 2002 case (how this makes any amount of sense, don't ask me!). So, the employer amends the wage, sends it back, and the case is approved. We have not had a single denial (knock on wood) from a notice of finding.

Good luck,
