This is to inform all of you people INS is asking to come up with the name why the delay could be.

Here are the ideas I found in this forum.
1. F1 Processing
2. H1 Backlogs
3. AP Backlogs
4. EAD Backlogs
5. DHS Implementation
6. Changing INS to BCIS
7. Special Registration
8. Concentration on Finger Printing Expiry

Because of anyone of above reasons 485 process will be resumed in next two weeks.

If you have any ideas please suggest and INS will use them. If not, after every two weeks pick one reason and update your minds with next reason right now they are working on blah blah blah.....485 processing will be resumed in two weeks.

The good thing is you dont have to start at 1st reason. You can start anywhere because it's an infinite loop with no EXIT.

Be prepared to renew your EAD as long as you are going to live in US.

If your 485 is approved after your death INS/BCIS will send your approval (not your spouse's approval) to your wife.

Good Luck
JM

I think you forgot one reason...

Work overburden

which means that since INS employees are overburdned with work they would need rest and at those times the approvals will come at a slower rate!:D

CSC is busy in discussing in MGM @ las Vegas why they are not able to give approvals in time despite of doing nothing, and once they will figure it out (hopefully in next two weeks) they will start approving cases.

I found one more reason Power Cut

Neeru was saying this on some other post.

I dont want to dampen your spirits, but...
there is another group (5?) of countries that is coming up for special registration yet. even if not, there are excuses available, like war, terror or simply power failure (yeah, this is CA);

Few more reasons added

9. BCIS HQ Orders Expedite Handling of Special Immigrant
Religious Worker Cases Before 10/01/2003
10. Sudan TPS Designation Extension
11. Sierra Leone TPS Designation Termination
12. Burundi TPS Designation Extension
13. Liberia TPS Designation Extension
