EB3 RIR (PD /10/02)
Xfer VSC to TSC
485 RCVD RFE on 06/07 for Paystubs and EVL
RSPNDed to RFE on 07/07
Called TSC on 8/09 lady says pending name check

Take an Infopass appointment at your local office and talk to an officer there. TSC IOs are not very reliable in giving out information regarding namechecks (or anything else, for that matter). Sad, but true.

Since you got an RFE in June 07 (I'm assuming 06/07 here means June 7, 2007), I would imagine the adjudications officer found all your security checks cleared before attempting to look further enough into your case to generate an RFE.

I'm in the same boat, I requested my congressman to check on the status of my case . Last week , I got a written response from Congressman that TSC informed him saying that security check is pending for my case.

You can be stuck forever. With the huge flood of AOS filings in Jun/Jul your application can be buried under a HUUUUUGE pile. Your children will grow old by the time you see your GC. Hope it doesn't actually happen, but a possibility.

Name check forever

You are right buddy its in 20 June 07 RFE rcvd , responded to RFE on 3 Jul 07.
also there was officer's name and his code on that RFE ..

I'm still trying to understand how this process works ..

1) If assigned to officer is that mean all the necessary check have been cleared.

2) or do they first look for all the necessary documentation and wait for security clearance and the assign the officer.

not sure if anyone has any info on this ..

99% your namecheck has cleared.....these days, they do not issue RFE unless namecheck has cleared....

There are always exceptions...so never know....U can try Infopass....or Congressman Inquiry to really know if your namecheck has cleared....sometimes, TSC reps are helpful, sometime they are not...

A personal friend of mine has been stuck in FBI name check for 4 years and counting. Over heard another guy going for 5 years. Then yesterday read on an attorney's website that one of his clients is still pending after 6 years. These are the extremes, many people get theirs within a year or so, but the possibility does send a chilling signal.
