   I am in the same boat. I was very very upset when I got transfer notice from VSC. My details,
 

   EB2, India
   RD\ND -- 29 Nov, 1999
   FP - 09 Mar 2001
   Case transfered to INS local office at 26 Federal Plaza on April 02, 2001.

I was desperately looking for any kind of information for the cases transfered to NYC local office. Thanks to srini123 for giving this link.
After reading all the messages posted on this link I think it will around 6months before we get any kind of communication from the local INS office.
