I checked my status thru the phone last night for our 485\'s
My status changed from \'case not found\' to \' your 485 was rcvd....\'
but my wife\'s status remains the same \' case not found\'

Any guesses/ideas on this one.

I had a similar experience. My message changed from "case not found" to "your I485 application was recvd...." in the first week of August. It was approved 2 weeks later. I am not sure whether this is a rule or an exception though. My wife\'s case is still "not found".

I have a similar case. I am the primary applicant. Both my wife & I got the "case can not be found....." message. Later wife\'s message changed to RFE sent when they asked for more info. We responded to the RFE. So now her message says that the RFE info has been received and that it will take (can you believe this..) 180 days to finish processing on the case. Mine still says "case not found.....". Make what you will of all this.

I am just hoping that the cases are still being worked on together.

ID Jan-97, ID/ND Aug-98. I might be the eldest case from 98 that is still unapproved and no hopes of salvation in the near term. Received letter from SC stating that they have erroneously misclassified my I-140 as EB2 and think that I should be EB3 as my work experience did not qualify for the former. Mind you, I applied for I-140 in May of 98 and was approved in July 98. My question is that what are my options right now. Do I have to file a new I 140 or can the original be modified as EB3 and request expedited approval. Any suggestions will be appreciated as I did everything by the book and it was SC that made the wrong clarification.
