How do you find out the alien number ? I have the 485 receipt notice and the wac number. But no alien number.

My understanding is that you get assigned A-number upon filing I-485. However, you wont see it or know what it is until you receive EAD card or FP notice. A number is listed on both these documents.

Not always true. Most people get A# on their I-485 receipts.

I got A# listed on both 140 and 485 recepits (it is identical number).
