u dont have to wait for your appt date
you can walk into the SJC ASC with required documents like finger print notice from INS / passport on any day...you will need to fill a form there & then they will take ur FP...from the time you walk into the ASC, the whole process will take about 20-30 minutes...when I went there was a line of abt 20 people...it toopk me 20 mins - start to finish...
dont wait for 8/30 - just walk in now & get it done with...
Also, there is a FBI number that you can call after ur FP - you can call to find out if they received your FP, processed it & whether the results have been sent back to INS...unfortunately I dont have the number with me, but you shud find it either on this site or on the FBI website...
