Any Experience with Travelling from US to Canada?

I am on TN, working in Arizona. My family in Alberta. I plan to visit them and work remotely (my employer is okay with that) over the summer.
I am seeking advice from forum members on travel experience via Air. Are we (TN Workers) required to do mandatory hotel quarantine after arriving at Canada airport?
I remember reading somewhere, we are part of "essential" travelers to maintain the flow of goods and people. I am okay with covid tests and quarantined at home for 14 days. BTW, I am fully vaccinated but current Canada rules don't care about it at all.
Any thoughts on this or related are very helpful.

You will be required to quarantine at a hotel. You are allowed to freely cross as a TNer (ie. you would not be denied entry to US), but must obey quarantine rules in either country/state.

I just came yesterday from dallas(TN)
1.Get your RT-PCR covid test from curative.com in US - It's free.
2.In Alberta you can quarantine at your home.(No need to book hotel ), I booked hotel but few travellers with me didn't they went home from airport ( In alberta and Sask you can quarantine at your home no fines from what they said).
3.You have to Install ArriveCan app and complete your travel Info

Thanks! That's an awesome update and information Reddy9999. If I may ask you - are you staying in the hotel right now or also quarantining at home? If at home, what was your experience with border officers and health officials taking swabs and giving instructions?
I already have ArriveCan app, looking at options I was thinking to use the Exempt option with a Cross-border worker. Perhaps won't fly though ;-)

If you take the test and have ready-made results with you. There is a possibility not to be in quarantine, right ?!

And if someone still lives without devices capable of installing these apps? :)

Not when traveling to Canada. They want a pre-test before boarding AND Quarantine 14 days (3 days in paid by us hotel + remaining at home. Also 2 follow-up tests, first at the airport and second in 8 days after arrival. Height of paranoia...
BTW, I am fully vaccinated (here in the US) but Canada doesn't give a monkey about it.

Or let me know about your YYC airport experience, irrespective of you quarantining in the hotel or at home.

We stayed at Hamtons Inn ( Will give $100 credit every day if you opt out there meal+ one day free stay ).Our results came in 24 hr .So we came home from hotel.Border officers just asked for my purpose of travel and TN job letter

Thanks again Reddy9999. I am glad all worked out well for you guys? Did officers verify hotel booking papers?
Also, by TN Job letter, do you mean the latest employment verification letter or the original job offer letter you used to get a TN stamp at the POE in the past?

Hi I made my flight bookings from Chicago-Toronto-Edmonton on 4th June but today I got revised Itinerary from Air Canada with the reason given that I need Quarantine at hotel in Toronto and cant go Edmonton from Toronto on same day.

Anyone had an experience of Toronto Airport if we show them TN papers, essential work category then would they allow us to fly from Toronto to Edmonton on same day without quarantine in Toronto?

Please suggest.

As I said, TN is NOT an essential work category (food/supply chain and medical). You are allowed to cross to US because of your TN status (not the same thing), but must still quarantine when entering Canada (or be leaving immediately). If you are going to Edmonton (home), you still need to quarantine. If you are going to Canada just to get renewal, then you should just renew at Pearson and fly back.

You might try a flight to Calgary, instead, which seems to be allowing people to go home from there. Edmonton is not a designated airport.

Nelsona is right. And the fact is one has to stay at a hotel at their first stop in Canada before getting on to connecting flight, I would also suggest coming to Calgary instead of Toronto

landed on Calgary airport and no issues. They just asked covid -ve test, work related questions and let me go .Just download Arrivecan app and put all your info.

No Quarntine,no issues..
