Hi folks,

Received a status from FBI name check this morning for a request submitted on Oct. 1st, 2004 for name check. I am including it here:

**************
Dear Mr. XXXXX,

I am responding to your e-mail sent on October 1, 2004, requesting for
status of an FBI Name Check.

A review of the FBI's Name Check Program database revealed that a request
from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for
XXXXX XXXXX was received on March 8, 2003 and is currently in a pending
status. Due to increased national security concerns, in December 2002 to
early 2003, the USCIS submitted an additional 2.7 million name checks for
processing to the FBI. Although 99.5% of these cases have been completed,
our efforts to wrap up the remaining requests continue. This has delayed
processing of other requests.

Mr. XXXXX, please be assured that the Immigration Authorities will be
notified at the earliest possible date upon completion of this case. I am
sorry we are unable to be of more assistance at this time.

Sincerely yours,

David M. Hardy, Chief,
National Name Check Program Section
Records Management Division

My RD is 11/15/2002. They couldn't complete a name check on me in more than 18 months. So much for national security!!! If they take this long, how will they ever catch the bad guys before they commit a crime???!!!

Anyway, I would really like to know if anyone has ever submitted an expedite request to FBI for Name Check status completion, and if so how did they do it and what was the result. If anyone out there can share their experience, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you all in advance.

I would suggest that you sent another fax to FBI, highlighting your plight and long delay. It might just work.
By the way, is your finger printing over? Usually FP call comes after name check.
All de best!

Who saif they are doing Name Check with Security Reasons ?

You haven't got an idea yet. How long have you been in this country ?
This is a procedure that can be easily justified and yet can serve the purpose
of forcing you into indentured servitude.

If they don't have checks and balances like this, how will they even the
competitive field between you, a hard-working, ingenuous, can-do
& talented professional and their hordes of Big Mac n Fries, good-for-nothing,
shelled-out-a-lot-of-$-for-a-useless-college-degree next generation ?

Time is not far when other hurdles will be put in your place to level the
playing field....otherwise you will be a slam - dunk winner !!!!!!!!

Security Check

Seems like they are planning to Hire you for National Security Adviser, therefore they want to be sure that there should not be any security left? I am just joking.
Hey we all go with this pain

Yes I did my FP2 on 6/22/2004 and I checked on that status too. FBI sent the results back on 6/23/2004.

I was just wondering if there's a different email address/fax number for the expedite request.

Well they better not hire me as a National Security Adviser, 'cuz if they do, the first thing I'm gonna do is fire all these incompetent good-for-nothings. :D

Hi peeved,

I understand your frustration. First read the posting by Rahul Kumar in the citizen ship forum. He has an attachement there. In there u can find a format to file your FOIPA (freedom of information and privacy act ) . By law they have to get to u by 20 days or something. They normally get back in a week. Most of the times u get it in 10 days. It mostly will come back with a "no records" found. Also if there is a match u can request for more details and pursue. Use that and then contact senator and tell him its an adminstrative delay. Also there have been congressional hearings in which the FBI name check division has said that most of the case cases get done in 48 to 72 hrs. some of them take longer but get done by 120 days. Print that out and write letters to senator/congressman and also FBI name check chief. Just my 2 cents.

Cheers

Do you know what's the hold up now? (At least I know in my case, it's the fbi name check clearance). I would suggest finding out what's the hold up and then contacting your senator/congressperson's office.

Please share you entire experience also, if you feel up to it. Also, please share your ND/RD etc. also.

Hope you get it soon. Keep that chin up.

Cheers.

after more a month they told me its pending .... guess my name had lot of hits and im pretty sure it can take several months , dont know how to expedite this process. any ideas?

seems like FBI name check dont take any longer than 72 hours , for 99.9999999 cases , my interview was on 25th oct, officer must knew fbi would get back to them in time , but its the name who had some kind of hits ,,, so it must had come back as hit , then they put my case on the side and assign it to some analyist , they dont rely on computer 100% , a human eye should see all the matches and if needed they have to retrive all the information (paper files) which can drag my case here and there for several months , i know i didnt do anything , so i should have come clean , but its the wait which i am been rewarded ,

not correct. My spouse has done her FP 3 months back but her Name check is still not complete. There is no relation to these two activities.
