Hi,

Can anyone pl. post his/her experience in getting an interim EAD at Newark, NJ.
I plan to apply for one soon. Also, can someone clarify if the 90day limit is from RD or ND.

My MD is 9/17, RD is 9/18, ND is 11/14. (all with VSC).

You should be getting your EAD very soon.

Did you check the 802 phone no.? Your case must have been approved already and you don\'t need to go to the local office.

what are needed forms and how was the experience.

Newark EAD

Newark is one of the four offices in USA that doesnt issue iterim EAD\'s, but Cherry Hills does it. I talked to someone two months ago who went there instead of Newark and got it luckily from there because iio didnt ask for the county and somehow didnt care he was without appointment.

I also called lawyer to ask him that question and he said in his 10 years of practice in nj he never heard of anyone getting interim EAD in Newark office by walk-in without appointment.

interim EAD

I was able to get an interim EAD from Newark office without an appointment. My application was pending with the Vermont Service Center over 90 days from the RD. The immigration officer who reviewed my case gave me a hard time about issuing the interim EAD card, because he kept insisting that it was 90 days from the ND and not RD. I asked to speak with a supervisor, who explained to the officer that it was 90 days from the RD. The interim EAD was issued on the same day.
 
Do you have to go there well ahead?

Are there any big lines without an appointment? Did they took the photos for you? What are the documents did you carry? Thanks for your help gcindia..
 
interim EAD

You have to get there early. (around 7am) There is a long line for people without an appointment. You will need a copy of your I-765 application, receipts from the VSC for I-765 and I-485. I also brought a copy of the I-140 receipt. My attorney also gave me a copy of the regulation where the rule clearly says 90 days from the receipt date. They will take photos for you. If the officer tells you that it is 90 days from the ND, ask to speak with the supervisor immediately. It is 90 days from the RD.

my thing is bit different. I have not applied for EAD yet. So, I don\'t have a copy of I-765, what I\'ll be having is new I-765. My RD for I-485 is past 6 months. In my case can I go to newark local office without an appointment and get the EAD on same day by submitting I-765? Thanks for you help. I really appreciate it.

Hi all..

I am planning to go to Cherry Hill tomorrow for EAD. My case is I want to apply for EAD (first time). Can you help me here what are the required documents I\'ve to carry with me. Do I need to get the MO or Personal Check will be fine? I know I am just taking a chance. Can any one help me here. Thanks
 
Here is the deal

I went to Cherry Hill this morning around 8:30 AM.. There were not a lot of people. After our number is called we went to the counter and told him we want to apply for EAD. So he reviewed our application and made a copy of it and gave us the copies and said they will send an appointment when to appear. I asked him normally how long does it take to get an appointment.. he said about a week. keeping fingers crossed.. Good luck to all you guys out there and special thanks for all who wants to help others.

I gather, from your posting, that one has to get the Newark office very early for the interim EAD.How early?...If I were to get there at 6 am , how many people would be already there in the queue?You see, I \'d have to get to work after that...
Where did you send in your original I-765....Laguna Niguel in CA?
ALL and any help will be greatly appreciated.
