Folks,
Is there any body out here with Pending background checks even though their FBI name Check is cleared. Please respond.
Thanks

Can U suggest the best/fastest way to know this ?

Question for u....how did you come to learn that your FBI Name Check
is done ? is it via the FBI e-mail address that's floating around in this
forum ?

Do you know another way or a faster or better way of getting this info ?

Reason I am asking is that I feel that e-mail address will soon be
ignored by FBI when they see a burst of thousands of e-mails asking for
this info. In other words, in all probability, my e-mail that went out 5 days
back will probably not have any response.

Can Congressman's Office get this information ?

USCIS is broken, all Congressman's offices , I guess, will soon be
overwhelmed with our queries, and pretty soon, our queries to the FBI
will overwhelm another agency.

How do u know is background security check?

I am April 2002, get Name check finished, I don't know there is another
background security check, is not the same as name check from FBI?
where you get this information?
Thanks

All,
My senators office helped to get the name check infromation from FBI and also confirmed with vermont that thay have my name check results. It's vermont who told our senators office that they waiting CIS internal (which could be IBIS i don't know purely my guess) background security check and also they didn't provide nay time frame when it would be done. my I-485 is pending since jan 2002.

guys any help regarding this greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Can we do anything ?

You mean a Senator's Office and Congressman's office can indeed
help with this information.

RDJAN....I am Sept 2002 I-485, waiting. FP2 was done on Sept 15, 2004.

Question is..today its you in this unfortunate boat, but I am almost there too
and so maybe quite a few others. What can we ( or can we at all ) do
together ?

Can folks like you and me gather a certain # ( say 15 -20 or even 10 of us )
and visit Vermont ? To meet the VSC head, of course ? For a meeting ?
A face 2 face ? Submit a memorandum ? A petition ?

I have tried faxing, calling and also emailing FBI Name Check Dept and after two to three months of hard work, finally I came to know that my NAME check was never requested by USCIS and my spouse name check was requested by USCIS on Feb 03 and she got cleared by March 03. I am Dec 2002 filler and I am now following up my case with the local representative.

Generally local rep will not be able to help you much in the Security checks. All they can do is to put some pressure on USCIS to work on your case provided if your ND has passed the VSC processing date by atleast one or two months.

Guys,
Think about any plan. i'm ok to visit vermont if the public window is open at VSC some where in the forum i read that the public window is closed from from sep 1st.i'm not sure whethet they are still open. is there way to find out???

I was thinking os something else

I don't know what public window you are talking of.

Here is what I was thinking of. If we can be a group of 10 or 15 or 20,
we can try our level best to set up an appointment, that too face 2 face,
with the head of VSC.

I have met Congressman Rob Andrews of NJ before and if we can get that
number ( i.e 10-20 ), I can try my level best with him to organize a face
2 face with the VSC Head. I am sure that's where a number like 10-20
comes in handy.

If that doesn't work, we can try using the offices of another Congressman
and Senator. I am sure that won't be too too hard.

Face 2 face is absolutely important for us to not only convey our
anguishes but also present something like a petition with all the details
of cases.

I already see 5 people here

I already saw 5 posts here. How about a new thread entitled
"Those willing to act, Send contact info" ;
let's ask people willing to join, to send in their e-mail id's and / or
phone contacts if possible.

If you are willing, we can setup a conference call pretty early , hopefully
soon. Posting the conference call # ( I mean a toll - free # ) as a thread here with the time will enable folks to dial in; it would allow us to form a
small quorum, a # like 10-20 and then we can pursue our plans.
