Guys, Good news is that they updated the AILA's website with current Processing dates of Jan 2003. I am planning to enquire with USCIS customer service and see if I can speak to the officer.

Also, I heard that one can file "Writ of Mandamus" to get attention to our lost or forgotten files. If anyone has comments regarding this, I would appreciate it as no one wants to hurt their case by filing something like this.

I am one of the Aug 02 filer my name check completed in Dec 02. About a month back INS responded to me and Senators query that my case is with an officer for review. I dont know how long the officer will take to act on my case.

I contacted my senators here in Chicago and they have send me a copy of the email they received from USCIS. It says my name is stuck with FBI for name check. I emailed FBI end of January but I guess I may not see a reply till end of June. Till then, I guess I just have to keep my mouth shut. Good luck guys.

Wait_4_ever, It is very intriguing that our cases have cleared the namechecks and still there is no answer. I am considering filing a "Writ of Mandamu" and speaking to an attorney next week to pursue the same.

This is getting insane why they are holding us for no reason.

My I485 was filed in Feb 2002 and since then my LUD hasn't been updated. I filed my wife's I485 in March 2005 but my LUD was still the same. I guess they treat both the cases separately.

I read some of the notes on the forum and am wondering,
1. Whats this namecheck and how to verify that.
2. How to verify if INS has received the finger prints.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

1. Whats this namecheck and how to verify that.

Namecheck is a process that FBI does for all AOS apps, You should be able to open an enquiry by calling your senator's office (www.senate.gov). Namecheck can hold one's application.

2. How to verify if INS has received the finger prints.

This can also be found from the enquiry reply from your senators office. Also there is a phone # you can call for this.

Ideally, You should call the 800 number for USCIS and open an enquiry and ask them your RD is feb 02 and they are processing way ahead of your RD. That should get their attention. Also consider filing "Writ of Mandamus" mentioned at the top of this post.
