 Letter from VSC

On 03/07/2006 you contacted us about your case.
" Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time.If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call costumer service."

I guess VSC put our cases in a cave with dusts.

I guess VSC needs to clean all the pending cases up to oct06. Good deal!

What is your FBI name check status?

Damascus: I really don`t know for sure about my NC status. I asked VSC over the phone, they refused to answer me. Then, I went in person in BOS and they told me that was everything done, ok. But, I know they just can set up your interview when they get the NC results from FBI. I stayed for 18 months in BOS waiting for interview and nothing. It`s about 3 years now from my FP1. I guess my NC is ok. The problem is that so many cases were transferred back to VSC at the same date (05DEC05) and they now are asking for 6 months. The guy from VSC also told me that everything was ok with my case and I have just to wait.

Its all crap ... I have like four letters saying that they will process in 60 days then 30 day and then they can not tell because of security checks....
they sux

Hi All,

I got kind of the same answer. Based on the enquiry u made in Feb your background chk is yet not complete. If you donot hear from us in within next 6 mths call us back...blah blah..

I got a 6 months letter last September. This time when I enquired they said that the processing of my case has been postponed indefinitely due to security check.

Why don't you file Mandamus suit?

I found this post where the case was approved 3 weeks after the "6 months reply". check this out:

I have already talked about Mandamus with my lawyer. My lawyer has several reason's why I cannot file Mandamus at this point:

1. My PD is NOT current
2. My case is less than 3 years old
3. I have contacted the Senator and am awaiting a reply

Is is your PD or RD that is less than 3 years old?

I recently got back the reply to my inquiry. "Background Check remains open [...] if you do not hear anything in 6 months, call our Customer Service number." :(

I really wish there was a way to find out the NC/BC status and to see when the checks were initiated.

I had LUD changes on my case on 2/1/06 and then on 3/1/06 -- since then, nothing at all.

Calling the VSC didn't help in any way at all. The rep just told me "it can take a very long time to adjudicate these cases so you have to wait," in a very un-caring manner. I wish these people could go through half the hardships that we all go through.

Case details:

EB3, PD: 4/01, Worldwide.

Hello beenwaitinglong,

When did you open an inquiry and when did you get a reply?
I got the 6 months reply, but mine didn't say anything about the background check. My reply had additional review. I'm just trying to decrypt their cryptic replies.... Thanks.

Naveen,

My Labor was started 10/01.
However, my I485 RD is 11/10/03 and PD is 11/13/03. So less than 3 years.
Also, please do let me know if you know of some good documentation / information on Mandamus

Hello jhawilla, I also got the same letter about "additional review" couple of days back -I called up VSC and asked the immi. officer specifically about the "additional review" and I was told that it is the same as stuck in one of the "security checks" - when asked which one - was told that cannot disclose that information.

So, your FBI NC can be done and now USCIS put on hold for the INSIDE security checks? I heard that this uscis checks, IBIS, are pretty quik. I don`t believe they`re beckloged with this inside reviews.
A frind of mine did an inquire last mo and received a letter saying that his case was on review outside of VSC and they`re waiting for the results to approve his case.
