hi everybody, i have yet another question. About 4 years ago, myself and my now ex got into a fight at home, we pushed each other and told i her to leave. She did, and came back the next day with her cousin and a police officer. She brought her cousin along because they decided to go to kentucky together which they did.....according to her she only brought the police officer to make sure myself and her cousing wouldnt get into a fight...the officer never questioned me, i didnt go down to the station, no court orders, no charges nothing...they all left and that was the end of it. I am just not sure if i should add this to my application...sorry, i think i'm just being paranoid and freaking out about everything. Thank you all!

What matters for the application (N-400 form + interview) is to answer all questions accurately and honestly.

As far as the N-400 is concerned it is clear:
- Committed a crime? No
- Arrested/Cited/Detained? No
- Charged? No
- Convicted? No
- Alternative sentencing? No
- Suspended sentence? No
- Jail? No

(Unless there are other tickets/offenses etc.)

It is a little the same as if you go to a baseball game and there are policemen to ensure public safety - the fact that you come to close proximity of a policeman does not make you guilty of anything :)

Then again, just because i was never booked/charged/convicted doesnt mean the officer didnt add my name to the police data base or whatever they do. I guess if this issue comes up in my background check i'll explain what happened to the I/O.

You can check the police files of the officer's precinct for your name.

Then again, the police cannot add your names to their database willy-nilly without charging you and giving you a chance to defend yourself.

Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks!
