I recently found this forum and would like to thank you all for the information you've shared here. My wife is in a similar to situation to many of you here, and has waited over three years for a background check (for a green card at this point).
One thing I noticed in some of your posts was the collection of wait times. I really think this is a great idea. In fact, I think that getting this type of information out to the public could wake up a lot of people in the country. I also think that this problem is systemic to the entire Department of Homeland Security.
So here's my idea: to expand upon the collection of processing times, and build a web site dedicated to gathering this type of information for all of DHS, and open it up for the world to see. I've reserved a domain and put up a quick little site describing the idea in more detail:
http://www.dhsreport.org
My question to this group is: does anyone know if this has been attempted before? I wouldn't want to reinvent the wheel here.
