Another AP vs. H1B Question

My H1B (and I-94) were renewed last year through 2008. However, if I travel outside the country, I will need a new visa to re-enter. My question is, is it better for me to travel on the H1B and get a new visa to re-enter or to switch to my EAD with current employer and travel on AP (both EAD/AP have already been approved). Is there a difference in either status, and if so, which one is better to be in?

Thanks in advance!

In my opinion, AP is better than H1 in many ways. You are free to switch employers is one. Also, AP gives you a satisfaction that you can reenter USA with no problems. I say no problems because I have not seen anyone being denied entry on AP. I have heard a few people say that they were questinoed more than the others but in the end, they were granted entry. With H1, you are dependent on your country counslate to give you the visa which is not a guarantee. Also, you may get stuck in name check (or whatever they call this process in foreign countries) for ever. I had a few former collegues who got stuck in this process and are still waiting for their names to be clear for over a year now. Guess what happened to their jobs here in the US.
