An update on my AOS case

Hi,
We did our AOS interview on Apr 24th in Atlanta, just a few questions about
the name, DOB ,.... . The results of my wife's background had been
received but mine (principal applicant) was not ready. I was not
surprised, because we had done FP less than a month before (March
31th). The interviewer said that our case was ok, and as soon as they
receive my background check they will issue the card and will mail it.
It could be a few weeks up to several months! We applied on Feb 1st
(the month that our number was supposed to be current), and we were
happy that everything moved ahead really fast, but now the annoying
period of waiting for FBI check has begun. I hope we can get it soon.

One question: my wife received her EAD card 2 weeks ago, but I haven't
yet. Is it because of FBI check not being ready?

Hi

I had my FP on April 4th and I received my EAD card on April 27th.
I think you will get it soon. I would not worry about that. It is just a matter of time and paciense.

Thanks. It was comforting. But if EAD issuance depends on background check, how come yours was so fast? Are you the principal applicant?Have you done your interview yet?
So if I recieve my EAD it means that the check is done. In this case can I expect to recieve my Green card in a few weeks after that?

I am the principal applicant.

I have no idea about the name check. I know that I received the EAD and still no third notice and no interview date. I do not think that they will issue a GC without an interview.

Because they require a FP for the EAD probably they checked my name , at least parcially.
I am still waiting for the interview date. That is all I know.
Maybe they can give the EAD without the name check . I have no clue.
If you find out something let me know. What I know is that the name check could take from 4 to 8 weeks or from 6 to 8 . I am not sure.

I read that your wife received the EAD card and you did not, yet. I think that it is different from case to case . Probably your FP was made by another person and the processing time is just different. I is not late , you are still in the processing time, am I right?
So, all we need to do, is to wait.

No worries

If your EAD does not arrive for some reason, you can get an interim EAD.
Apparently the name check for EAD is not the same as the dreaded name check
 
I recieved my EAD card today. It was issued 10 days after my wife's.
I hope that means that my name check with FBI has been done (at least partially as needed for EAD).

i have a quwstion for you, if i understand correctly you got yr EAD card with out interviwe and several days after FP that is good news!!! how log your EAD valid and when is yr number is/was current? i am glad to know.

My FP was on April 4th and the EAD was approved on April 21th and I received the EAD card on April 27th.

But still no third notice for the interview.

I'm in a similar situation. Applied around Feb 1st, had the interview on March 29, we were both granted, my husband and I and then the next day they said I was not granted because the name check was not completed. My husband is the principal applicant. It seems that this is not unusual - for one to be approved right away and one later.
I also received my EAD last week.
 
I went to the local USCIS office today and they told me that I did not get an appointment yet and that I should wait, because they do not have my name check yet.
