I've noticed in this forum and some other forums like Reddit that people really emphasize the importance of your education/TN category aligning with the job responsibilities.
I'm graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering and have a full-time offer in the states for a Software Engineer role. I noticed that on my offer letter, there is absolutely 0 description of my role. It literally just says "You will be working as a Software Engineer" and then there's information regarding compensation and the usual boilerplate contract stuff.
So what does this mean in regards to TN? Will my employer need to change the offer letter to include some responsibilities? Of course, given my degree is a mismatch with the job, I feel like adding the responsibilities could hurt my case.
The company's lawyers intend to get me pre-approved with USCIS under the Engineer category. Is my case likely to succeed in both USCIS and getting through the airport? As I understand it, even with a pre-approval in hand, the border officers can still reject you.
