Please Help! 1994 Case lost & found

I'm sure that by the time I finished with my story you will all come the conclusion this story is amazing, I came to the U.S. back in 1989 with a visa, after my visa expired my mother felt it was better for us to wait until she became a Citizen, and file an I-130.
My mother became a Citizen, and file an I-130 and at the time I was 17 years old (1994). We receive a Receipt Notice (RN) from the INS, but because my step-father is in the army (currently in Iraq) we move from house to house very often, and never received anything else including my approval notice. But to make matters worse we lost all documents related to my case, and was never able to find my RN#, we submitted various FOI request and we never receive a response, finally after TEN year of seaching, we found the original Notice of Action.
Please advice on what I should do, please note my fiance is a US CITIZEN, and I just submitted an I-824 for a duplicate approval notice, Please advice.
